I have a bouquet of daffodils on the table.

They make some sort of contrast with the poinsettia's, let me assure you.

Since you seem to be the only other person posting who's not a football fan with under a hundred posts, you're gonna need to get a whole lot more entertaining. Otherwise I'mma have to get another cuppa and return to my fourth re-read of the Master And Commander series.

I never knew they had field hockey teams.

Ground's froze here. Been a seriously stoopid winter. No snow to play with. I haven't heard, but I'd guess it's been a horrible year for the ski areas.

It's been a good winter here, but the almanac is calling for a cool stretch.
 
Charlie scares the hell out of the slopes.

I just figure of I gotta have cold weather, I could at least have some ice or snow to play on. I think we got two storms that dropped any noticeable amount on us, and it mostly melted. So now we have four inches of hard frozen shit in the shady spots. Bleh.
 
I could do without any cold weather.

I want to go South, the wife wants to stay put, but if the assaults continue on the medical profession, a group of us are looking at Costa Rica...

They have a free market system and a burgeoning medical industry devoted to those with the affluence to escape Socialized Medicine.

Care there, in the best hospitals, with the best doctors is far cheaper than in the US.

Do they have some sort of safety net for the poor also? For some reason I'm stuck thinking I heard some Outward Bound hippie type talking about what a socialist paradise the place is. Could be a memory failure.

Yes, as soon as drugs are legalized, all the narcos will settle down into cozy jobs at Wal Mart. Anyone would hire them.

They'll look for the money. It ain't in "honest work." To support the lifestyle they're used to they'd all need MBA's from Wharton.

But when it is not there, the NEXT generation will look to something else because the gang life will cease to be profitable and no one emulates a loser. Do you really dream of being Wile E. Coyote after a morning's pleasant fiction?

Yes, the next generation will look to kidnapping or contract killings or auto theft or weapons smuggling or black market historical fiction or white slavery or whatever other thing they can find. The child of a very well off narco is not going to think, "Shucks, drugs are illegal now. Guess I better go work at KFC."
