About The

"Hotel California"

Guest Accomodations:
The Hotel:
First Floor:
Lobby
Dining Room
Gift Shop
Elevator and Stairs
Second Floor: 8 smaller rooms
Third Floor: 3 Suites
Basement: Wouldn't you like to know...?

Bungalows, located out back (4 each)

Cottages, located down by the creek (4 each)

Recreational Offerings:
The Golf Course: 9 hole, Par 3 (with Kiddy Putt Putt as well)

The Stables: 6 horses, 4 ponies, 5 pack mules for over night trail hikes)

"The Deck"
Swimming Pool
Jacuzzi, one indoor and one outdoor
Spa (with both a Masseur and Masseuse)

(More to be added as writers come up with plot ideas around them)

The Property:
1,500 acres at the end of a 24 mile long road. (The sign at the highway says "12 miles to Hotel California".)

The property sets down in a bit of a bowl. It cannot be seen except from within the bowl.

While the acreage visible within the bowl is green and beautiful, beyond the bowl is arid land, on the verge of desert; it is very uninviting ... which is just the way the Hotel's owners like it.

The Rules for Using The WDT

Rules for The

Writers Discussion Thread:

1. The purpose of this thread is to give writers a place to:
a. Propose ideas

b. Solicit collaborators.

c. Ask for clarification on things posted in the Storyline Thread.

d. And more.

2. Do not turn this into a chit chat thread.
a. If you have a question or comment that is specific to one character or to the Host, PM that one writer or Host.

b. But if you have a question, comment, or plot idea that you feel all or most of the writers should see, please by all means post it here.

c. Once you get a satisfactory response to your question or comment, don't fill the thread with a bunch of "thank you" replies. We know you appreciate the help; it's not necessary to post a whole series of "Thanks", "Anytime", "See ya in the thread", "Okay, see ya" posts that clutter the this thread. (Yeah, it happens, or I wouldn't be mentioning it here.)

Okay, I'm going to leave it at that. Hopefully that's enough.

My First Characters and their directions:

I introduced my first characters here. Below are the possible directions I see for them. The CHARACTERS below in bold and all caps are characters I would like to see introduced by other writers.
The Bakers:
Tim Baker, the father: He is going to learn that he can't go home because of business problems. He has no sexual interest in his wife -- who he knows was having an affair back home -- but he could easily develop feelings for a HOTEL GUEST or WORKER.

Camille Baker, the mother: I'm not going to tell you about her. This is where you learn what exactly makes The Hotel California what it is. I will tell you that it involves Harold (below).

Greg Baker, the 21 year old son: He will develop the hots for a WOMAN at the hotel, possibly an older woman. She will be "tasked" by Harold with making Greg never want to leave.

Carla Baker, the 19 year old, (newly discovered) lesbian daughter: She, too, will develop feelings for a YOUNG WOMAN -- also tasked by Harold -- who I could see as being a sexy French Maid type, or a girl from the stables.

Jake, the Chauffeur -- Jake likes tying women up, and has a WOMAN tied to a bed upstairs even as we speak.

Harold, the Concierge -- Harold is the spiritual source behind everything that The Hotel California is. He will be interacting with Camille Baker in a way that ... well, I'll tell you in an upcoming post.

If you have an interest in any of the above CHARACTERS, just PM me.

About Pictures

About Pictures for Characters:
1. Every character must have a picture.

2. No animations, no anime, no famous celebrities, no overwhelming advertising.

3. If you can't locate a picture that fits #2 above, I can help you.

4. If you are the type who likes to pick your own character's picture, great; or if you are the type that likes to pick the picture of the character(s) your own character may be having sex with, that's great, too. Coordinate with the writer of the character(s) you want to collaborate with and see how he/she wants to handle the whole picture issue.

5. You may have noticed that I did not include a picture for Jake. I left him "unidentified" for the benefit of the female writer who writes opposite him in the beginning.

I'm thinking for my character, Summer, she can interact with both Tim and Carla Baker in some form or another. I'm also open to any other characters that may enter the story.

Her reason for being stuck at the hotel (as of right now) is that she can't pay and must...ahem...work off her debt. ;) If anybody has any better suggestions, though, I'd be more than happy to hear them.

That works well. (You did mean Tim, the father, and not Greg the son, correct?) I will have both of them take notice of her, maybe put the whole family at dinner with her getting an invite to sit, sound good?

And yes, I have a really good one for her having to stay here if you wish. I can't tell you what it is yet though, but I can guarantee you, she won't want to leave.

Character Profiles

I handle Character Profiles a bit differently than most Hosts: I ask you to private message me your profile, then I personally post them to the Writer Discussion Thread (which will also act as our Out Of Character Thread and is, therefore, the reason why I ask that it doesn't get turned into a chit chat thread).

So, to introduce your Character to me, answer the below in a private message to me and then, at the end, add anything else you feel is worth telling us about your character. Don't forget to include a character direction, if you already have one in mind.

Character Name:

Gender and Age:

Picture: (A must eventually, but you can have your collaborator or the Host pick it if you choose.)

Physical Description:

Personal/Psychological Description:

Background you wish to explain at this point:

Character Direction (if you have one):

Describe your attitude about sexual writing; is there anything you do or do not want to write about your character getting involved in?

Tell us anything else you want, or anything I have missed.

Character Name:
Tim Baker

Gender and Age:
Male, 44

Family Picture

Physical Description:
5'10", 210
Once a football player, he is still athletically fit but with a layer of "winter fat".

Sandy-blond hair, blue eyes.

Personal/Psychological Description:
With others, he is friendly, charismatic, easy going, humorous.

Alone, though, he becomes reserved; he has business problems and they depress him when he has time to think about them.

Background you wish to explain at this point:
He met Camille at the beginning of their senior year at college and married her just after graduation; three months later, they had Greg and a little under two years later, they had Carla.

They were passionate lovers for their first several years, but after buying Party Time and trying to operate it together, tensions arose and they quickly drew apart. Camille returned to her former job as an Office Professional, which put them back on an even keel, but their relationship was never as loving or passionate as it once was.

They bought an old house a few years later, and ever since, renovating it has been Tim's passion. With the exception of a few times a year, he and Camille don't have carnal relations, although they remain friendly and polite in every other way.

When the economy collapsed, people stopped throwing parties and Party time suffered. Tim fired 2/3 of his staff and mortgaged both his business and home, both of which had been totally paid for. But it wasn't enough; he needed to do something to save the business and he was getting desperate. He started using illegal immigrants for most of his labor and began purchasing stolen, black market goods to stock his shelves.

About the same time, he discovered that his wife was having an affair. Tim wasn't sure how to handle it. He put off reacting to it until he found out who the man was, but after a while he decided to just let her have her affair; she was happy, he was happy, the kids were happy. It just didn't seem to be hurting anything, so he let it go.

Character Direction:
Tim is going to learn that his company is under investigation and if he returns home, he will likely be arrested on Federal charges. He won't be eager to leave.

He will also fall in lust and not want to leave his new lover. (We don't know yet who this lover may be.)

Describe your attitude about sexual writing:
I like erotic writing but I don't get really dirty. I write both male and lesbian female roles. I write from vanilla to rape, but don't really like torture or much else.
