Who here ever has the feeling that they need to go back to school just to help their children out with their math homework?

I can help for the most part but I swear they have changed the way they do things.

I do however struggle to when it comes to helping my son who is a freshmen this year. He is taking Algerbra 1. Even with two College Algerbra college credits I have a hard time.

Anyone else feel this way with their childrens home work?

The first thing I want to see is their book. Many younger students do not use books, they get worksheets. That sucks. How do you expect a student to go back and fill in the missing pieces if they do not have a book?

College algebra? The internet is your friend.

Yep, there are times when I get frustrated with my kids' homework and I have 3 degrees. It's so tough to come in to something right in the middle and Petey is right, they don't have books anymore! Give me the book to study for a bit, then I can help.

Yes, it is different nowadays...the way they teach them to approach the problems. I always go back to the way I was taught to approach it when I try to explain it.

I am sure that does not help at all.

Worksheets, please, it's mostly online now for mine. She googles before asking me.

I think it's safe to say you struggle in all subjects.

Oh and I take your just a so fucking great at everything. Why are so many of you guys here assholes. Is this where you come to make yourself feel better about your selfs?

I don't struggle in lots of stuff. I just don't always agree with you assholes here. Since you guys can not handle that you find it better to treat me like shit. Go ahead, if it makes your feel better.

So far we've determined math and English.

My kids do have text books. They use Spalding math in my kids school. My kindergartner and 3rd grader don't have text books, they do use work sheets.

I try to help my kid by showing them the way I learned it. They just get upset and say thats not how the teacher showed them. Even when I go back and read from their text book and show them that way. They still say that their teacher say to do it a different way. So even when using a textbook they don't always teach the same as they show in the text book.

That was awesome.

Your English isn't always the best, go back to many of your post. I can atleast admit to it. I don't always have to make people feel like shit, just because I think I can.

I can say with complete confidence that my English is light years better than yours ever will be.

Good for you. So let me guess. You don't really have any kids do you?

Listen, I can only do so much when the level of stupid has risen this high. I mean you gotta give me something to work with. I'm an artist but even the best artist must have a clean canvas or pliable clay.
