Is this just a male thing?

Everyone, (that is "guys" that I know) including myself, has gone for a much younger woman the second/third/whatever time around. In some cases, really (20 years or more) dialing down in age.

Curious as to what people think about this.

I was joking, I'm not really insulted by it. The term "dialing down" just made me laugh a bit.

I'm not sure if younger always equals trophy, though. Maybe just different? I'm almost the polar opposite of my guy's previous ltr- she was very blonde and tanned and had big tits and was extremely accomplished in her career.

Um, now that I think about it, I guess he really did dial down after all, lol.

I like the people I'm in relationships with to be older then me. I wanna be the one who's allowed to make mistakes and whatnot- the less dominate personality; and I've noticed that age has a lot to do with that. I wanna be the one that's 'taken care of'.

Having said that, every girl I've dated has been within a year of my age. The only guy I've dated was allmost a decade older then me- and the age thing makes a difference. I really didn't think it would. But yeah, I think I'd go older either way- it just isn't a real priority. There are a lot of things that are more important to me then age.

I think the youth plays a major part of it.. Almost like acting it out as if you were young again. Or the same age. I would like to consider myself intelligent, and like to think that I can hold my own in a conversation with a man, many years older than me. There's been many times I've forgotten my own age and lost myself in the mere feeling of having someone who I can actually hold an intellectual conversation with. Rather than the mere "What's up?" I get on a day to day basis.

But usually this is because they have had to work, bring up kids, do the house, take responsibiity for relationships, often care for older parents. All those things generally don't make a woman feel sexy, and being with a man who is, at best, unsympathetic, can leave women feeling disillusioned with thier lot. With men in general.

I was lucky, I spent my 20's and 30's with a woman so I avoided all of that and enjoyed the most fantastic partnership. Neither of us got bitter - just had good times.

Yep... I prefer a partner plus or minus 5 years from my age. I'm very energetic so I usually attract younger guys and I've tried dating guys 10 years younger but it's just too much for me.
