Is it possible to embed an Easter egg?

I am considering embedding an Easter egg in a story. The Easter Egg would be a link that leads to another part of the story--a postscript, actually--that continues the story in a different direction from the body of the posted story.

Why do it this way? I have a story that starts out heavily in one category, then veers sharply into another. Part 2 makes no sense without Part 1, but most readers of Part 1 might not enjoy where Part 2 takes them. I would say that it is more or less an alternate ending. Part 1 can stand alone, but I rather like Part 2 and would hate to see it abandoned.

So, is it possible to embed a link, or do I need to find an alternate solution?

Fuck off asswipe!
How interesting...I think MR here is trying to prod us into responding as those do on the GB....

It will be interesting to see what threads get picked for this game and to watch MR's disappointment and frustration as nothing he/she says gets much of a response.

I mean, really, "fuck off asswipe"? How...dull.

I believe (and if I'm wrong someone will let me know) you can put links in your submissions as long as all links lead back to Lit. I know that is the case. I've used links and all mine take the reader to Lit.

Thanks. That's not exactly what I had in mind, but maybe I can make it work.

When I see the term Easter Egg, I think of something hidden. As a long time video game player, I know that many of the games have easter eggs in them. If you're a savvy insider and know which door to enter and which sequence of buttons to press when you do (or if you stumble into it by luck), you can enter secret levels of the game unbeknownst to the lesser informed. Is that the sort of thing you had in mind?

More or less--yes. In this case, it would be a hidden chapter that does not show up in the story index.

Possibly starting a thread for it, and linking the thread in the story would work. You'd keep the link pointed back to Lit. and it'd be allowed. Good luck, it sounds like a neat trick. :)

"May I have this dance," the gentleman asked politely.
"Yes, you may."
She placed her hand in his and stepped quickly onto the dance floor.
Ema was giddy with excitement.
Could she have even imagined a ballroom such as this?
Ransacking her memory did her no good.
Every dance she'd been to before tonight had peanut shells on the floor and hay bales for seating.
Tonight would be an adventure she'd never forget.

That's clever, but it might be difficult to pull off. Might be the only way to make it work, however.

This is closer to what I had in mind, although it allows for an alternate route to get there, so it isn't exactly a reward for the insightful reader. I'll have to give both of these ideas some additional thought.

Both of you, thanks for your input.

You're welcome. And here's a heads up. mysecretchapter.com is still an unregistered URL and up for grabs!

Just beware that some of your readers may be misled if they are not careful with their typing. myseacrestchapter.com does exist, and it links to a gay exploration fantasy by some dude named Simon Cowell.

As long as the thing you're linking to is on Lit ( a story, a member's profile, the main Literotica page, etc. ) then you can put the link directly in the story.

*You'll want to put a note in the "notes" section saying that you're doing so, to keep it from getting a speed-read rejection for HTML.
