I know it's outside of my normal, "charismatically joke about everything and try to get laid" platform, but I thought that you ladies would like to know that Rick Santorum thinks that contraception is bad news, and is now going a step farther to say that if a woman is raped and gets pregnant, she should be forced to carry that child to term and acquire custody- even if it endangers her life.

Coupling this with his "family friendly" attitude that all children should be raised by their biological, different-sexed parents, and you're going to see judges granting visitation rights to rapists, so not only do you have to have this child, you have to spend time and allow your child to spend time, with a rapist. WTF? How can someone keep a strait face and get on TV and say shit like this? You're running for office! I mean, even if you thought something that stupid, how could you get up in front of people and say something like that?

Oh, and he hates contraception- so he wants your chances of being impregnated to be as close to 100% as they can be. Because that way god can "gift" you with a painful reminder that probably has hereditary psychological problems. So... good luck with that.

Under these conditions, rape would be illegal, but it treats women- rape victiums, as breeding fodder. Yeah, he'd get in trouble, but he still gets to force someone to carry his offspring. And then care for it for 18 years. I can't begin to wrap my head around this. I mean- who the FUCK does he think he is? What the hell makes him think he can tell people what to do like that? This isn't Natzi Germany. WTF?

There are several states with new "personhood" laws up for review.
These laws define life at conception, and many will make most forms of hormonal birth control illegal, as well as things like IVF.

Mrs Rug's reaction to this was that Santorum's total abortion ban would be perfectly okay, right after they enact a law that mandates vasectomies for all males at puberty, and requires them to have a contract with a woman who wishes to have their babies before having it reversed.

I think that is the best idea I have ever heard.

I guess Ricky-Poo just made my "guys to vote for list" a bit shorter.

Only 3 left, a Whacko, a Socialist or Mr. Newt.

I really, really like Mrs. Rug. You've got yourself a smart lady. :D

As for Candi's post...my morning is going badly enough. Now I get to add nausea and depression to my ailments. I'm feeling very "fuck the world," right now. But Candi, thank you for sharing the information. It's not your fault I can't stomach it, right now.

You bash and ridicule Santorum for his views, but no doubt applaud and protect Muslims who want to practice genital mutilation, incest, and honor killings.

Don't pretend you're for "diversity."

Remind me again how many Muslims are running for the presidency this year, Mr. False Equivalency?

So you agree abortion and birth control should be illegal, with no exceptions.

Why dont you just state your opinion instead of bringing up something totally irrelevant that no one has ever said or talked about?

You're new here, ain't ya? :D

I know it's outside of my normal, "charismatically joke about everything and try to get laid" platform

So the one thing you choose to make a political rant about is to go into a paranoic and hysterical rage over family values issues. I'd suggest sticking to your charismatical joking instead.

Have you ever made a post that doesn't contain at least one logical fallacy?

Your another one
you dont agree with the OP but instead of actually coming out and stating an actual opinion
you hedge around nonsense.

Just say it
Do you think abortion for any reason, and birth control, should be illegal?

This isn't about me, it's about you. We get it that you're pro-abortion. Why can't you accept the fact that not everyone agrees with you? It's really that simple.

this is about you, its part of the whole you ranted about something that never happened to show your annoyance with this thread, instead of
stating what you own opinion is

I dont have a problem with stating what I believe, because I dont care if you quote me on it later.

I am pro-choice
I dont want the government in my bedroom or my hospital room.

Ok, so....please correct me if I'm wrong. Admittedly, I think Santorum's a nutter so I haven't paid much attention.

Isn't his point more of a states rights issue? Whatever I read about it a while ago gave me the impression he saw the legality of contraception as an issue to be determined by individual states rather than the federal government, because he believes it's not a constitutional issue?

Or....not?

States rights trumps everything.....except savin' babbys.

Nah. His position is that your uterus is subject to his personal religious ravings and as such any governmental authority that can should force you to bear the child of your rapist.
