We watched the pilot for "Smash" with On Demand. Patient1 described it as "Glee for Geezers." Anyone else watch it yet?

seems like typical Hollywood... why come up with a new idea when you can just copy someone else's success.

really sick of all the copying and remaking of movies and tv shows. lets get some new material!

DCL hasn't been back, has he? I guess he usually isn't here on the weekends.

I didn't watch it...but the trailers for it reminded me of "Fame". Did it seem more like that??

*That is if you remember or saw Fame...

Yes, quite a bit like Fame from the point of view of auditions and practice for auditions.

Personally, I'm not a Marilyn Monroe fan so I think it will be hard for me to get into this show and like it. It seems to be all about a Broadway show about Marilyn.

I'll just be glad when it starts so NBC can stop airing the promos incessantly.

That's why we watched it early using "on Demand" There was nothing else on we wanted to see so we watched Smash after seeing all the promos for it.

I will say the singers have great voices.

I'm a theater geek, so I'm sure I'll be checking it out!

Did you watch it?

I don't know that we'll spend anymore time with it. It was kind of boring, actually.

I did. I enjoyed it for the most part, but if it doesn't pick up a bit, I don't know if I'll stick with it. It seems to be doing well in the ratings, though.

Same here. Maybe we'll watch again just to see if it does get better.

reci and I watched the pilot episode on demand last night. It was refreshing in that, unlike GLEE, the people singing aren't auto-tuned to within an inch of their lives.
