I thought everyone knew that? His first wife was Jayne Wyman. Nancy was also an actress. So far as I know, Reagan is the only US President to have been divorced. I remember Wyman from 'Falcon Crest' and my dad talking about how hot he thought she was 'back in the day'.

You've turned neocon now...

...eh amicus?

~~~
Nope.
Conservapedia Definition of Neocon:
A neoconservative (also spelled "neo-conservative"; colloquially, neocon) in American politics can appear to be conservative while in fact favoring big government, interventionalism, and a hostility to religion in politics and government. Many neocons had been liberals in their youth and admired President Franklin D. Roosevelt. The movement emerged in the mid 1970s, played a limited role in the Ronald Reagan Administration, and then dominated the George W. Bush Administration after 2001. Neoconservatives are often preferred by liberals to portray the conservative voice in the media, as in television talk shows, newspaper columnists, magazines, think tanks, and advisory positions in Republican Administrations.
I never use the term, nor have I ever been accused of being such.
I am a radical for capitalism, an advocate of objectivism and an atheist...and...one hell of a muff diver in my time...:D
Just about everyone DOES know that.
Amicunt is on a mission to redefine Washington insider (and serial adulterer) Newtie as "Reaganesque".
Gingrich a Reaganite? That is almost as funny as Pee Wee Herman being a reincarnation of John Wayne.
At the risk of sounding really obtuse....
So?
Apparently I'm missing something...
Hello, Grace...if I may....Newt is a short little fat man with a napoleonic complex of the small man in a big world.
It is a southern babtist values/morals thing for the Left to continually harp that Newt has had three wives in hopes of stealing a vote here and there.
Gingrich is the most astute, intelligent, well schooled, experienced and knowledgeable man to ever run for the American Presidency. His fault, other than hubris, is that he is faith based, or pretends to be, and religion has failed to answer the ethical and moral questions of the modern age.
Thus....by pointing out that the darling of the Right, Reagan, possibly the most uneducated man to ever become President, had two wives and it didn't make him all bad....well...convoluted perhaps and it is a chess move four or five moves down the board. The left weenies will figure it out in a day or so and try to counter me...but they will fail, as they always do.
(talk about hubris?) heh
So....you're minimizing Newt's divorce/perceived shortcoming by saying "Hey, you guys liked Reagan plenty well and he was divorced too!"
How about promoting Newt by saying, "What the FUCK does being divorced have to do with running a country?"
I like Newt. I like Ron Paul more, but he won't win.
How very sad.
Are you a "gold bug", mayhaps?
Ron Paul has some really good talking points
but he also has a lot of crazy in the closet
Obama has taken the nation to the precipice, we are in real trouble. The American people know it, they want somebody with ideas to lead them in the right direction and for the most part couldn't care less about his sex life or a bitter vindictive ex-wife.
Looking back at Newts tenure as speaker of the house and all the drama that went with it, do you honestly think he can withstand the pressure of the campagine trail without losing his cool and turning into "defensive asshole newt" you know, the 90's newt.
Amicus pretty much summed it up in the first sentence of post #5.
And I agree with your second sentence on Newt.
If one studies Gingrich carefully, you come to the conclusion of "You had me at 'HELLO, now STFU!' I do not like Newt, I do Ron Paul. On the Republican side that is.
I am very slightly smarter than I look.
Of this, I have no doubt.
Oh Lord, this board has become infested with Paul fans.
Nope. I just - in general - want the government to fuck off.
I don't expect anyone here to share this view....just sayin.
Smart woman. Many do indeed have the same sentiment.
Grace...most on the GB do share your view...one can not say that about the AH, all left wing pussies.
You might, as I attempt, explain in detail why individual liberty and a small government, and even a small government can fuck off, is the only honorable and humane way to govern.
Slapping the the shit out of the few socialists here is great fun, but not productive.
