on the subject of drug testing welfare recipients.

As I've said before, I support the concept but don't see any way it could ever be cost effective. As for public servants, absolutely they should be drug tested and all elected officials should have their results made public.
Aint never gonna happen.
 
it might, but if it did i'm certain it be rigged to make it easy for them to avoid a bad test. in other words, it'd be fucking pointless.
 
Do welfare recipients who test positive then get free addiction treatment?

Its not cost effective.
Cheaper to just give the benefits then spend more then they get testing people.
 
Well look at it this way... I think drug testing should be done. most people on wellfare have children. I use to work in a day care.. and a lot of the kids who would come in had parents on wellfare, day care paid by child care assistance.. but most of the parents also had a drug or alcohol problem. The poor kids suffer, parents neglect them. We even have been told by child care assistance and protection.. they didn't care if the parents didn't work or so forth.. while the kids are at day care they know they are being cared for and fed. I was like WTF.. if it has come to this.. take the kids away.. but with an over abundance of kids already in foster care.. and not enough compentent , loving and caring foster parents..it makes it hard to do. Now it pisses me off that so many parents find it hard to give the shit up, for their children. I have smoked pot.. drink like a fish.. but the moment I knew my life was more then just mine.. and I knew I was pregnant.. that shit didn't matter.. I needed to give my child the best start possible,the best childhood.. one safe and full of love. Giving up drugs and excessive drinking was no problem. So I think this A hole of parents who don't want to.. don 't deserve the chance to raise their kids.. and if they test positive.. their kids should be taken.. they should lose their wellfare.. until they can prove themselves to be clean and fit to be parents.

Depending on the jobs a person has.. I think drug testing should be manditory for a lot of jobs.. pilots, bus drivers, teachers, daycare workers, firefighters,police, military, any government worker..etc..

I haven't heard dime or nickle in a long time either but I'm admittedly out of the loop on such things. Last I knew though nobody wanted to deal with such small amounts anymore.
Times have changed.
 
lately all i buy is dime bags, but that's only because i'm cheap and i don't smoke anywhere near as much as i used to. it's usually about two relatively fat joints worth of weed.

It all depended on where you were. Where I was I could get a kilo bag of thai blooms for a carton of cigarettes. The carton cost me $1.70.

Yeah, clearly asking for ID when voting is a crazy idea. People should be allowed to vote with what ever name they want to and be allowed to vote they achieve the desired result

We must remember Chicago - "Vote early and vote often!"

Next thing, they will require ID when driving a car?!?!?! nuts
