I get the fact that the mainstream news needs to fill their air time and they all want to be the first to break a story, but why is it that they feel the need to barrage us with phone calls about who we are voting for? Maybe it's just me, but isn't voting something that we do in a private manner by law? The press and the candidates aren't allowed to be in the room other than to cast their own votes. When we vote we go into a small enclosure to fill out a ballot and then have to place it in a machine without letting others see it. If you share your ballot in the room then everyone screams that the election is being tainted and that the votes are void. There are laws against sharing your ballot correct?
So why then is it ok for a news station or some other group to constantly call my house asking who I'm voting for? Whats the point of actually going to vote if you've already told everyone who you're voting for. When I do answer the call and it's a recording I simply hang up, but when there is a real person on the other line I ask for their home number so that I can call them at more convenient time for me to talk about it. Funny how none of them will give me their phone number.
I'm probably just rambling here and I'll be happy come January 11th when the calls stop and life returns to normal here in New Hampshire at least until November. It just kills me that people that do not know me think they deserve to know who I'm voting for and that I'm actually going to tell them.
