The list names the 3,320 Congressman who served from 1937 to 2002...

...the rankings were complied by political scientist Dr. Keith T. Poole in 2004; each individual's score is derived from all the roll call votes in the House and the Senate from 1937 to 2002.

You'll notice the piece was originally intended to mark the liberal/conservative difference between then-presidential candidate John Kerry and then-incumbent President Bush 43.

The most liberal-voting Congressman (#1) in the 65-year period was William Henry Meyer, Democrat from Vermont.

Ranked #3,320 from 1937-2002, and no doubt still holding that honor today...

...Ron Paul is the most conservative Congressman in the last 75 years.

That one would be interresting to see on a timeline graph. Has either party drifted to the left or right over time? Are there periods of bipartisan overlap, and periods of parisan distance? 'Big Tent' caucuses vs party line lockstepping under different leadership?

What? I'm a geek about this sorta thing.

You probably shouldn't pay so much heed to it...

...for the ranking was used as the main reference in a piece @ infowars.com:

Attack On Paul As “More Left-Wing Than Obama” Is Laughable

And we know how loony anything from infowars.com automatically is...

...right?

If you can sift though the pants-on-head stuff, there are moments of random lucidity even in Weekly World News.

Doesn't make it a non-pants-on-head source.

I don't doubt that this was all taken from legitimate sources and information. However today's political arena owns roughly 99.99% of media seen in America. I can't say for other nations, never been there. So the old saying "Figures never lie, but liars always figure" speaks true here. I'm sure there's millions of possibilities for the ranking to be as they are, it's just too general for me to take seriously. Who remembers how a congressman from 1954 voted? or'71?

Just saying, you can't always trust what you're told.

Since Ron Paul is touted to be the champion of the Libertarian view point, I take it you're saying that Libertarians are more conservative then even the most conservative Republican. They be gone way the hell out there in right field, so far out they're outside the fence so to speak.

Interesting interpretation.

You see, you let the avatar tell you what to think. Sorry doll, I'm a brunette. And there's no need to get catty.

Actually...

...it was your words which defined you - that's why I quoted them.
