Yes, they have them.

My boss, a product of the turbulent 60's and 70's, (I'm a late 80's early 90's kid) sends me links to music from that era that was not on the charts, cool stuff. I need to explore it more.

Hocus Pocus

Frankenstein

Ballroom Bliz

Ballroom Blitz by Sweet- LOVE that song! I remember getting Desolation Boulavard on cassette tape when I was a kid and wearing it out. It was re-done by Krokus in the 80's and they did it justice.

Oh shit, I really am old. Please disregard...

Ballroom Blitz was in the Wayne's World movie, wasn't it?

Never heard of the other two.

If you want to study the best music from the 60s and 70s, you're not going to get very far with Focus, Edgar Winter, and Sweet.

You need to study the history of Motown and Stax records and the older American blues influence on the British invasion (Beatles, Stones, Hollies and more).

I like the later Beatles, I also checked out T. Rex. I also listened to some Yes and ELP.

I just can't stand a lot of the early 70's stuff. Except for maybe The Carpenters

This is like one of those code phrases people come up with, simply because no one would ever think to say it. ;)

Those weren't on the charts?
Are you looking at nautical charts or something?

NO! They werent on the charts back then. From 1964-1969 the charts were filled with Beatles, Stones, Simon & Garfunkel, the Byrds, Sonny & Cher, Spanky & Our Gang, Glenn Campbell, and a Whitman's Sampler of one shot wonders who came and went. I cant name anyone who listened to Edgar Winter.

My grandfathers, one was a Quaker, therefore no play list.

The other was married to my Grandmother, a drummer in a swing band.

I assume "Goodnight Irene" was on it.

That was her name...

:D
