Let me cut to the chase here… if we can’t kill the rapist, why can we kill the baby? The baby is innocent. The rapist is a soulless loser who is going to get out of jail in 5 years, and in many cases will repeat the act. If I’m violently attacked, raped, and end up pregnant, killing my unborn child isn’t going to make me feel any less raped and isn’t going to bring me to peace. If my rapist was getting the death penalty… I’d at least feel safer

Abortion is not a punishment wrought upon the fetus. It is the rape victim exercising their right to make choices affecting their own body in the aftermath of having their right to choice ripped from their hands.

In today's world we have finger prints, DNA, and enough checks & balances I think there won't be many mistakes in who we hang. Interesting viewpoint. Never thought of that myself. Still, the whole abortion from rape thing is a red herring best not delved into. The rate of conception from a violent rape is actually far less than from ordinary consentual unprotected intercourse, which itself does not occur in most cases from one act. Nature is actually pretty amazing that way. On the very very rare case where a conception were to occur from a violent rape vs. allowing this red herring issue to be fodder for pro-abortion extremists to gain some sort of moral highground in the debate, its not worth it. Let them have the rape exception.

Who says it is a baby? Some people believe that it is a baby the minute the egg is fertilized, some when it can survive outside the womb. If you do not wish to abort it, then keep it and stop whining.

I will go on record as saying that I am pro-choice all the fucking way. My rights to autonomy over my body should not ever be held in abeyance to the possible personhood rights of a human to be. Not fucking ever. (and for the record I have never had nor would I ever have an abortion but I will go toe to toe for the RIGHT to an abortion for any woman who wants one)

Because rape is a horrific and traumatic crime in and of itself, and no woman should be required to carry the child of her rapist for 9 months after being attacked. As others have mentioned, the child carries the DNA of the rapist and was conceived in an act of violence; unless the woman involved wanted to keep her baby, why on earth should the fetus not be aborted? Are we expecting it will grow into a well-adjusted and productive member of society? *snark*

And we do kill some rapists - after they've been convicted and sentenced in court.
