You're much prettier than that girl you wanted to look like. At least in my book. Even when she has the right type of makeup and the right photographer. After a few years in the fashion industry, working mainly with makeup, I can surely tell you not even the models don't look like themselves. I'm still a freelancer makeup artist in my spare time (yeah, Bridezillas. I know.) and I use the Eve Pearl Method. Just take a look at the cover of this book. You don't even have to go any further than the cover to realize what the right makeup alone can do. Now imagine with all the rest. And you're a great girl! That, for people who have even half a neuron counts a lot.

Granted, we all love to wake up with someone who we think looks good - a beautiful women or a handsome guy. It's only natural (AND YOU HAVE THAT), but once the thrill of the newness is gone, that person would better be someone who has other types of qualities. Someone we can talk to and someone who treats us well. And you have that too; besides, you have a personality.


You're demanding too much of yourself. You sound like to want to be perfect, but, trust me, I dated the perfect man. It was boring as hell and I went out and married the not-so-perfect guy but who turned out to be the perfect guy for me. I'm assuming it would be the same way with women.

Pff... I'm inspired to write today. I should go write a story or something hahaha :D

But with photoshop any one can look like that.... But with out personality it is all empty.

This has become one of my favorite threads.... And it is not due to the photos. It is honestly due to all the woman here that have the personalities that scream of the beauty that is nearly I possable to catch in a photo.

Sometimes being average is not all what it cut out to be...we still have other issues to deal with about concerning our looks, personality, etc...so even the sexiest ladies can have quims about themselves. We all do!!! Love yourself just the way you are and change only if YOU desire that change...listen to your friends' wise advise...:rose::rose:

I know, everyone, that I shouldn't be so affected by media; but in my defense you can only be told something so many times before it becomes conditioned into your daily routine. It can be really hard sometime when there are millions of people telling you you're really not that great, when only a handful of people are encouraging you. I know that you guys are very special to me and that you're not just saying these things to make me feel better, but the fact is -- they DO make me feel better. Some days I just have a problem of regression in my progress of learning to love myself.

Be patient and I'll love myself as much as you fine folks do. :eek:

Res, I understand this. I was the "fat kid" thru school & the silloeute used to draw #anta. I have. Gotten mu older & learned I am responsible for my own feelings.
