I don't know which is crazier. The anarchy over this shoe or the police resorting to pepper spray, yet again. It's like you don't dare go shopping without wearing armor and a gas mask.

Across the country, the long-awaited release of Nike retro Air Jordan basketball shoes resulted in fights, arrests, and the use pepper spray as police attempted to calm frenzied shoppers on Friday, many of whom had waited outside stores overnight.

Whats the season without a little mayhem?

Halloween is a safer, happier, more family-friendly holiday these days. Xmas has become the season of grabbing for status.

Well, at least the shoppers weren't pepper spraying each other this time!

I did wonder, however, if the police would have felt as free to use pepper spray on a, shall we say, bunch of "White Chistmas" shopper???

The main thing is balance. Gotta stay on your feet or get trampled.

If that is meant as a question about the race of the persons who were sprayed, how do we know what it is? The cops sprayed people who were fighting, that's a lot more than just "being unruly."

This line says it all: "They're just shoes at the end of the day."

$180 shoes retail or $600 on ebay. Seriously? $180 for a pair of friggin' shoes? Just pure stupidity.

I say let the idiots fight over them. I'll stick with my $30 shoes thank you very much. They'll last just as long and I won't have to take out a second mortgage on my house when I need to replace them.

I agree $600 is a ridiculous amount to pay for a pair of shoes. Women, however, sometkimes pay much more for them.
