When I was a younger Limatina, in a year when the Mets were winning and the Giants were too, when we still walked with that just-graduated swagger and had not yet been sagged by life and kids, I and several Suspicious Figures from my neighborhood would frequently tie Manhattan up and rape it in its dusty ass. Two such Suspicious Figures were co-best men at my first wedding. One little female Suspicious Figure was the willing co-conspirator in many illicit Sonny gropings.

Last night, Sonny and six Suspicious Figures from the past reuned after 25 years. I expected to be the only one who has aged well, since I usually am in such gatherings. I was wrong. To the man and women, we have done OK. Two Best Men are, like Sonny, still fit and unstooped. One, like Sonny, still has all his hair. And little female Suspicious Figure has gotten littler, fitter, and much, much hotter.

We collectively tied Manhattan up and raped it in its dusty ass. A good time was had by all, including Manhattan, no matter what it says when you talk to it today.
