if it weren't for the bombardment of add's and music that fire up after the 4th of July I might be inclined to get in the spirit of the winter solstice celebrations. On top of that the commercialism of the season has convinced people that love is measured by how much debt you accrued on them and it absolutely disgust me.

Christmas doesn't have to be commercial and fake. Our family has been expanded by 3 little boys who lost their mother in November. For me Christmas spirit is seeing them smile and adjust to their new home. Merry, merry anyway JAJ.

if you remember back to childhood you will know that that so called christmas spirit is the feeling of anticipation and joy of getting something. people confuse it with "christmas spirit". the "spirit" is love, and nothing more.
i handmade 2 gifts and bought one for the same person. everyone else got sent a card.

I bought immunisations for poor kids around the world in everyones name, and then emailed them the Merry Xmas letters from the various charities that are doing them.
