2011 AH Secret Santa Gift Opening Thread

I couldn't wait so -- thank you Tio Narratore! Seeing that I like cephalopods, Tio sent me a lovely octopus trinket box. It's gorgeous, thank you so much!

Y'know what? It's 11:47 ... close enough for government work. :)

*sound of gift wrap tearing*

Woohoo! What an absolutely cool gift! :D

A 1:80 Scale Die-cast Peterbilt Tractor-Trailer commemorating my favorite football team's (the Miami Dolphins)1972 Perfect Season, painted in the team colors of orange and light blue and emblazoned with the Dolphin logos on the cab doors and each of the game scores on the trailer sides.

Thank you so very much Secret Santa. :D

Merry Christmas to all!

Merry Christmas to all!

Glad you liked it! As a life long Pats fan (and especially after they choked in their attempt to go perfect) I was all but twitching when I picked that up!

Better watch out for Green Bay this year though.

You're a great secret Santa. :)

Thank you very much to My Secret Santa! She did include a card, so Thank you Mistress Lynn!

I got a great Lovecraft book, "The Klarkash-Ton Cycle" one of the few I didn't already have.

Have to say was not overly surprised with the book as I was to furnish a list of what I don't have.

But what was a total surprise and even better than the book, was a set of Aleister Crowley Tarot cards!

I don;t think I ever mentioned it here, but I do a tarot reading every morning before I go to work so these are a great gift!

I will supply a pic when the wife gets back from church-they are having a party and she jacked my camera-

Thanks again ML and thank you Di for running this!

Dude! That was a truly inspired gift. Thanks again. :D

I never underestimate any opponent. The Fins are my boys, but I also follow the Bucs. It's cool having two major football teams in one state. :D

Good that you support them. The average Florida fan seems very blase. The Rays couldn't even sell out during the Play offs.

Have to say I am scratching my head at Sporano being fired after they win 4 out of five and should have won on thanksgiving. They finally put it together and they can the coach. That teams issues are up top for sure.

But for today, we have to face God Boy in his home town. Ugh.

Heh! That's becuz everybody here is from somewhere else. :D They're still rooting for the Packs, the Ravens and suchlike. I'm a Florida dude, born and bred and I root for my teams.

Don't make no sense to me either.

Good luck with that. Whether it's skill, luck, divine inspiration or what, the dude is hotter than a pistol. :D

I may need to find a new NFL team to root for, at least for the end of this season. Eagles are terrible, 'Skins are laughable (and have been for a while) and the Colts -- oh, poor Mr. Penn.

Perhaps the Browns... they were always good at covering the spread when I did the football pool at work...

Then latch onto the Broncos. Just be sure to thank your lord and savior first.

Know what? As anti christian as my beliefs are, I'm fine with the kid having faith and wanting to discuss it.

But no premarital sex? he was a star quarterback in college and he has never gotten laid? Give me a fucking break.

I don't believe I'm allowed to like the Broncos. Mr. Penn has a list of teams on the "No" list and that's one of them. Truth is, I can't remember a season where I've had less interest in the NFL.

As for the premarital sex -- hard as it can be to believe, it does happen. Also, I don't care whether he has or not, or even whether he has and lies about it. He's a football player; his games have no effect on me and I'm not supporting anything, so no problem.

I want to know about more gifts! Guess I'll have to wait until later...

Glad you liked the cephalopodic storage facility, PennLady!:)

And I have a set of two art DVDs to load on tv or computer. They don't make for an impressive picture in their little boxes, but they promise to have a world of impressive images inside. I'll see if I can post any of the images (the naughtiest ones, of course) after I load them.

Thanks, Babs!:rose::kiss: It's a lovely present! :D

I'm home. I'm settled. I'm going to open my box and read what everyoone else wrote. Give me a few minutes, please. Oh, I think I'll stop and make a cosmo before I open the box, too. Make that two minutes, please.

Well, I'm quick at making a drink, but slow at reading. Who turned this Christmas thread into a football thread?:D

I'm reading with my knife and box in lap.

My box has numbered wrapped gifts in it and I found out what was rattling in the box--the card, with a warning on the envelope not to open until today. So, here I go...

Still another warning on the inside of the Santa christmas card. lol There's also a hidden note inside the card. I'll open that after I get to the gifts. So far, no clue as to who sent it.

This is fun!

Package number 1 has a very colorful croceted table runner in it with pompoms glued on it. I think my martini glass might get tipped over hitting a pompom. Maybe I'll use it as a winter scarf instead. It will look good with my pink coat. Yeah!

Onto package number 2.

Package number 2 was tied up with yarn, so I'm already starting to see a pattern--no pun intended.

This one has a croceted ornament and I'm pretty sure its in the shape of a cupcake. Very cute! I know cupcakes are very fashionable in the bakery business these days.

The wheels are spinning, trying to remember a conversation about who crochets and who knits around here.;)

On to the third one....

OMG! I love it! I love it! I love it! What a sick person I am.:D

It's a pink crocheted doilie with a flamingo in the pattern. GREAT! The first thing I noticed about it was that it was pink and I thought this will look nice under one of my flamingos. Then, I saw it. The flamingo is in the pattern. I'm thrilled.

Oh, there's one more gift to open and I'm hogging the thread. Sorry! This is fun.

The last one is a crocheted doilie coaster in the shape of a teapot. A great place to set my teacup. Fuck that! It's a great place to rest my cosmo!

Thank you secret Santa! Very thoughtful on all of the gifts and so much work went into each one. I love all of them, and Barney just took off with the cupcake. lol Damn cat!

Next, I'm going to read the secret note inside the card and see if I found the right purpose of all of the gifts. Maybe Santa signed her name.;)

I'm back. hahaha Read the note. Ooops.:D

The scarf is in the shape of cupcakes--one after another. Now, I see it! Still cute, and I was joking about the table runner. I knew it was a scarf from the beginning, just didn't see the cupcakes.

And, the teapot is still going to be used as a coaster instead of an ornament as my instructions indicated. I'd rather be reminded of my Secret Santa all year long instead of just Christmas. The flamingo will be out all year, too.

Now, if the kids are all in bed, I might find out who sent it.;) I have a huge smile on my face. This has been a lot of fun and I'm so glad that I waited to open this.

Now....what did everybody else get? I knew about Tio's;). You're welcome, sweetie. I'm still feeling an art museum in my future.

Who are we missing in the group?

Those are some cool gifts, Babs. Not as cool as mine, but still cool.

Mistress Lynn hasn't checked in yet, for one.

It was me! :) Thought you might figure that from the return address but I couldn't figure out a good way to hide it.

Glad you liked everything. The teapot was supposed to be an ornament, but I forgot to put a hanging loop on it. I think it'd make a very nice coaster, though.
