This one's weird in that it's basically two fetishes in one. On the one hand, you have transformation as liberation, which begins with "If I could turn into a girl, I could sneak into the girls' bathroom" and works its way up to the removal of all the requirements placed upon us by our sex, race, or even species. On the other hand, you have transformation as punishment, which is an extension of bondage, utterly dominating the victim's body. Of course, both are rather hard to roleplay, but they're perfect subjects for a site like this.

I myself am more interested in the liberating aspects, but I've gotten the most luck trying to arouse people with the dominating aspects. How about you all?

Personally I see the main appeal of transformation stories as the wish fulfillment/ending dysphoria aspect. That kinda sorta goes with liberation, but leaving old stereotypes and obligations and limitations behind is only half the story. Gaining a new sense of self and new physical senses and being able to take a new role towards other people and all that are at least as interesting as whatever the transformee is leaving behind.

I'm not personally interested in the domination aspect, although I've observed that for many people liberation often takes place withing the context of being dominated, because if someone else is making you do it you don't have to feel irresponsible or guilty, etc.

I had never thought about it that way before. I do think it is liberating, but I feel lile when I am transformed into some sort of werecreature or alien being, I am free to indulge in my sexual desires without concern for societal norms. I can do things I couldn't do as a human. I can just breed. My drive to mate trumps everuthing else.

Another side that really turns me in is the submission. Something powerful takes over my mind and body. I accept it, offering myself. Forever changed.
