If you want to please your Master, you need to know what he wants. Which would include asking him and talking to him. *We* are strangers, we have no idea what your Master wants from you.

Unless one's Master is the type that wants you to work and struggle at learning Him/Her... There is a certain satisfication in knowing the other person paid close enough attention to you to learn your likes and dislikes. I also think in some cases like such, there's a bit of a sadistic intention to it.
