i want to get to know you better

If you are referring to Charleston, SC in your #1, Can I go with you? Charleston is my favorite city and I'm only 2 hours away. :D .....
Yay! You bet you can! I've just been waiting 'til I could find someone who wanted to go with me! I'll pick you up in the Barbie car! :rose:

#48 What was the first car you ever owned?

1970-something gold Pontiac Catalina that had belonged to a sales rep at my dad's company, so it came with 150,000 miles already on it. Named her Henrietta - yes, she was THAT sexy! She was a land yacht - I was designated driver in college, because I could fit about 10 or 12 people in it. My ex-husband traded my lovely Henrietta in, unbeknownst to me, on that luxury car of the day, a Chevette. I promptly named that one the Shove-It. I kept it only about a month longer than I kept the husband. :D

#49. What was the best Christmas gift you received when your were a kid?

It's a tie between my Wonder Woman tank top/underwear set and my Rainbow Brite dolls. I remember asking for both repeatedly and being so happy to unwrap them. Come to think of it, I believe I got them both in the same year.

My second favorite, which should probably be tied with the other two was my own personalized motorcycle helmet that my dad had commissioned for me. It had hearts and wings all over it, was shiny black and hot pink, I got that the year I turned 8. :)

The year I got my handmade rag doll that I named Emily. She had a blue and white checked dress and a lace pinafore and bloomers. My mother still has her at her house and my girls still play with her when we visit.

Laverne and Shirley and Lenny and Squiggy dolls. I didn't ask for them ... My dad just bought them on a whim because he thought I'd like them.

They weren't the Barbies I'd had on my list .... They were so much better. :D

My big wheels with flames...not the stupid pink one:D

A doll that was as big as me from my dad when I was 4 years old

My first pair of pointe shoes from my ballet teacher

By far the best gift was the gold String Ray bicycle with a banana seat. The bike represented freedom to go where I wanted and my moms pleas to stay close never were followed. The family ping pong table present provided many fun moments with my brothers and sisters. I'm hoping Santa will bring my private Caribbean island this year.......I've been good-sorta!

Best Christmas Gift:

Was the Christmas memories of playing with my grandfather who I was named after especially in light that he died when I was nine.:(

The games compendium we used to get every year, kept us entertained for weeks even though we never knew what some of the more obscure ones were or how to play them...beetle drive anyone?

The most memorable was the radio cassette player I got when I was about 12...I used to listen to the Radio 1 top 40 every Sunday evening in the dining room...it was my sacred time-my family never intruded.. I danced around the kitchen, sang along reading the lyrics in Smash Hits and taped my favourite songs always trying to avoid the DJ talking at the beginning and end...never successfully...I thought I was so cool at those times which was a rare moment of self esteem for an awkward, plain and painfully short sighted class clown...

Boxing Gloves, they were actually given to my cousin but we had many a good time beating the crap out of each other.

Oh yeah, Hungry, Hungry, Hippos. That game was the best. It was also loud as shit used to dive my mom crazy. Of course as a parent myself, I know feel toys that loud should be outlawed.

When I was about 13, I went with my parents from Ohio to Denver, CO.
I huddled in the backseat with lots of blankets because my dad loved the AC.
The whole trip was fantastic, but the most memorable part was my first view of the Rocky Mountains after all the flat cornfields in Kansas. It was inspiring.

I would say it was a recent trip I took to Biloxi, MS - and my blog highlights a lot of my memories ;) Memorable for me b/c I went alone, met a lot of great people, and b/c I won the trip. :D

My Grifter bike - the other kids in the street had gotten them for their birthdays during the year and I was desperate for one!

I loved that bike!

One of my favorites was driving to the Florida Keys when I was 20 with a buddy of mine. We drove my MG towing a 16ft Boston Whaler. The truckers loved seeing such a strange site and we talked to them over the CB all the way down Rt95. We camped illegally when we got there and met many bizarre people. We fished and snorkled during the day and partied long into the night. We made it home with about 2 bucks in our pockets.
