Yeah, I know, this belongs in the Author cat where I won't be able to find it again because of the sheer volume of submissions.

Life is good here, slow-paced, and not without drama, LOL. Peyton Place meets Mayberry.

Okay, so I just added to my repertoire a new story. But I was clever because some readers liked to be shocked. Only I'm not sure if I may have gone over the top.

Any thoughts as to what is "way over" versus being "clever"?

Possibly whether it exceeds the bounds of believablity or not ;)

Yeah, a gray area there. But if one doesn't take chances then one also doesn't reap the rewards. To be honest I'm a little "nervous" about this one.

But the story has been submitted a couple of days ago titled "Making Daddy Pay" so we'll see the reaction. It's a crap shoot.

Okay, have the answer. Sort of went out on the plank on this one and have received mixed comments, from "U R Sick" to "Well Written", but even the nice comments had reservations, more out of gratitude from my better earlier stories and perhaps understanding one can't hit balls out of the park all the time, or so I assume.

Okay, so now I have a better idea for what's acceptable and what's "pushing" the envelope.

Votes aren't terrible, in the 3.7 range, low for me, but I never anticipate seeing this reaching above 4.0.

But I thought I had to try.

A lesson here for other writers.
