Well... As human type folks, which we are, "male" and "female" are a matter of status, function, social role. Chaz can function as a man in the ways that really matter and sorry guys-- having a penis doesn't matter nearly as much as you'd think. So despite his XX chromosome talley, I would call him "Sir." You, of course, can call him "Ms" if you like, but I doubt you'll ever get close enough to him to do so.

In humans, brain chemistry makes a huge difference. it's kind of like the difference between a PC and a Mac-- a little bit more than the operating system, you have to change some of the architecture to make the OS work. Hormones can do that for humans.
