Well in years past when I was there the city moved 24-7. I dealt with people on the street level and business level but poverty did exist. I will never forget seeing Aberdeen for instance. I don't even know if it's still there. You could smell it 2 miles away.

Though working conditions in Asia were never of the standard you'd find here, the people I saw were grateful to have the work. There were few safety nets. I never made the mistake however of judging them by our standards or diminish them either, I never saw harder working people.

I remember when you could hire a damn nice looking girl for a can of corn and hold her a week for an electric fan, or a pair of white tennis shoes, but the prevailing economics didn't necessarily change the fact that she was an alluring female and a good fuck.:D
.....

It's no less classy than the vile you spew about your ex's, loser.

Don't you have a shipment of tampons to deliver?

i like how he's trying to pretend nothing happened now while all his little idiot buddies do the same.

Shame on him.

Bad vetteman, bad.

Now, if only that actually gave you some sort of high ground, Sean, but it doesn't. That you'd go to this trouble, that you're so intensely invested in controlling how others view your opponents, is more revealing about your true nature than what the quote reveals about his.

Creeped out on Craigslist,
Ellie

lol a bunch of assholes bitching about other assholes. are we supposed to say who is the lesser of two evils here?

It's almost as funny watching SeanH and his girls pine for Vetteman as it is to watch Byron grovel at dolf's feet...

he started a thread, dude. that really isn't a hard thing to do.

You have a point there, pointless. It's easy enough- I stand corrected on that. But it doesn't change the small-minded and needy thought process behind this thread. SeanH is obviously a person who needs validation, and needs it so badly that he sees a board opponent post something like that, and the immediate association his mind makes is using it to influence how others perceive that opponent. I can't relate to that.

It's just sad, bro. And what's even sadder is that I wouldn't be surprised at all if quite a few Lit men have hired pros before, and reflect on the experience just as cynically as vette does.

Hell, I've seen movies in which the supposedly likeable good guys crack jokes like that (not that I found it charming, but apparently enough people do).

Nope, no dominatrix here, vette. That's not my bag. A just punishment for you would be to make you return to the girl(s) you rented and give them fat stacks of cash so they never have to sell themselves again. And then you'd be so broke you might have to sell yourself to them.

i think it's cute that you only enter the thread AFTER you got back up.

That was back-up? I wasn't flattering to Sean, but not in the spirit of taking sides.

Ellie

Be sorta ok if he owned up to it. Considering the times, the generation he belongs to, etc. I can understand the action because it would have been the norm albeit one that wasn't talked about in the open.
Not owning up to it is cowardly. We all do things we regret and some of us do really bad things. It's life. Be better to say "I did it and I wish I hadn't" than to simply go on the defensive and fight a losing battle.
The smiley at the end is rather repulsive though. No defense for that. I actually would have thought he was above that. Guess not.

i'm guessing that vetteman thought it was back up and that's really what counts in regards to that post.

anyway, the quoted post is really only part of the story. the most interesting part is vette's many attempts to throw up a cloud of smoke around that posts true meaning. i will not quote that. it aint my bag. it was, however, darkly amusing.

as for hookers i would not be one of them. i've been propositioned, but it was beyond weird. there's just something not right about the whole thing as much as i may have joked about it in the past.

I have very little problem with people (of either gender) using sex workers. However, there is something truly repulsive about the ones who brag about doing it in third world countries or where they are using trafficked girls in the west where the workers are doing it because they have very little autonomy. In those cases it might not technically be rape, but it's as good as.

Pro or no pro, the " :D " of approval was the shittiest part. Oh, that is the free market at work. That's what happens when there are no safety nets, blah blah. Yeah, it is true. To condone it via " :D " is beyond repulsive. Maybe he posted it hoping to get an "amen" from his usual "bros", but it backfired, as it should have.
