Communist China - more business friendly than the USA

I just did. If you've ever been there you'd notice nothing there resembles your suggestion of fascism.

yes, because the entire nation of china is hong kong. the other billion and a half people in china and the remaining 9.6 million square kilometers are all figments of my imagination.

stop spending your whole day huffing paint in the garage and jerking off to stormfront posts. that shit is bad for you, dude.

"easier to do business"

Translation: A decided lack of regulations for disposing of toxic wastes, lack of regulations regarding if those toxic wastes end up IN your products, slave labor wages.. etc, etc, etc..

Obviously none of these dunderheads has ever spent any time in China. I suggest they go live and work there a year then report back. I doubt they would last a month.

Have you ever been to Hong Kong?

Yes I have. You are partially right but it isn't all that free. Like in many such oppressive regimes there is a power elite but they fall on the whim of a despot. Many who accumulate wealth flee to America when they can leaving behind what they built. A bit of embarrassment the Chinese government don't talk about.

BTW Hong Kong is really just a small part of China and really is not a fair example to use for the rest of the country and the living conditions of the Chinese people.

What he said.

The bolded part made me LOL and ROFL. I even chortled.

You lost me. Seems to me his statement was accurate. Maybe we're reading it two different ways.

If you are trying to convince strangers on a message board that you are all worldly and sophisticated and shit, it's best not to make simpleton statements like,

"Hong Kong is really just a small part of China"

For realz? Youse kiddin me.

I thought Hong Kong was at least 67.4% of China.

67.4% of what? Not population or area. I still don't get what you're saying.

It's called condescension.

Pretty much the same I feel for you.

His statement is painfully obvious. Of course Hong Kong is a small part of China. China is a big fucking country and Hong Kong is a small (land area) city. We don't need to be told the obvious.

Or maybe you do...

You know what, that rain drop that just fell into the ocean is really just a small part of the ocean.

Ok, I thought you were being serious and I was missing something. Sarcasm is much better.

However all these come from Vette implying that Hong Kong was typical of China.

I wasn't really following the conversation, and usually just skim Vette anyway. I know what he's going to say, so there's no need to actually read him.

The initial comment you replied to made sense as a reply to Vettes. That's part of why I was thrown on yours.

Never mind me. If I'm close enough to type on the keyboard, I'm too close to read the monitor. My arms are too short. Usually I just type something that I've been thinking about and hope it's on point.

I'm glad at least you understood the why of my statement. Unfortunately there are times we have to state the obvious to small minded people. (shrug)

My point applied to Hong Kong only, mainly to illustrate that today, in Hong Kong, the unemployment rate is 3%, unlike the rest of China where it is higher, due mostly to the free enterprise system the Chinese communists have allowed to exist there less hindered in larger degree than the rest of the country.

Actually the unemployment rate for the rest of the country could be as high as 14% if populations other than urban are counted.

I have to admit, though I have been to Hong Kong many times I have not been there since the Chinese took over, but I have friends who do business there, with whole I speak on a regular basis.

Do you speak Chinese or this gibberish to them?

The Chinese realize you need a strong private sector and booming business if you want lots of government tax revenue. 0bama doesn't seem to want either one, based on his actions.

What actions? In what ways has Coca-Cola been harmed of late?

Anyway, this thread is amusing. After all the "Obama = socialist" comments here the last 3 years, seeing the love affair with a Communist nation is a mite surprising.

I'm not really a fan of Obama, but I've yet to have anyone identify a single regulation that Obama is responsible for that is killing jobs; or ushering in the end of times.

You are still wrong. The Chinese Government has absolute control over the "Free Enterprise". Ultimately everything is controlled by the State. I think you need to do some research.
