I went to the doctor today for
the first time in a long time.
Anyway it was my first ever
time with him, a gp.
Anyway, early on he asked me if I had
had sex with women, and I
said yes. He then asked me if
I had, had sex with men and I replied
yes.
He then asked if I'd had a hiv test
lately, and I said no, he then scheduled
one.
When I told him I was bi, I then asked him if he were straight or...
He immediately said gay.
He told me as part of the general
checkup he would schedule a
prostate check for me. I am so much
looking forward to that. There
did seem to be a slight sexualy
enticed gleam in his eye, or was I
imagining it ?
Did he really have to ask me if
I had sex with men? I just think
it's an irrelevant question. I don't mind,
I'm looking forward to seeing him
again.
I know I'll never have sex with him,
it's just having a gay doctor
makes a prostate exam not seem
so bad at all. Somehow, I'd rather
not have a prostate exam from a
straight male.

I find it very relavent. He was merely trying to dertermine your 'risk factor'. My doctor (also gay), always discusses my sexual activity (not the how to or exciting, but quantity of partners, safe sex, unsafe, etc.). My personal feeings are this is a doctor trying to go the extra mile for you (and, no, my doctor and I have never made it).

Thanks for replyng.
Yes, I think
he's great. It's just, I never thought I would ever look forward to my first prostate
exam.
Him being gay, just does make
it seem a little exciting.
He is so nice. Super cute.
Only about 30 and Chinese.

He's a doctor.

It's what he does despite his orientation.

Absolutely true. I really would
of hated getting the exam from
a straight male though. I guess
I'm naive, but I just think a gay
doctor would be better for this.

That is interesting....Gay doctors ASK about ones sexual activity....My doctor...Straight, I also see a female doctor (straight), though I would answer any sexual activity question she wanted hehe)......Don't ask about sexual activity. You actually have to bring it up to them. I guessing the straight male doctor would be much more easily sued for whatever reason.

Gay Doctor

My interest in bisexuality was sparked by my doctor being gay, he is fairly attractive man and ever since the first time I had a physical it has been a fantasy of mine.....my wife is aware and thinks it's hot, we have often included him in our fantasies.

I've always had doctor fantasies, currently I have a female doctor, very cute too, and it's fun to have my yearly exams so I can enjoy her holding and squeezing my balls and shaft. The prostate exam, my first, was actually enjoyable. I would imagine having a male doctor may add a certain excitement to it as well.

I wouldn't immediately read too much into that. Remember that first and foremost, he's a doctor, his job is looking after the welfare of his patients, and as a gay man, he has a more personal understanding of the risk factors involved with gay men. But that's not to say he doesn't find you attractive.

My Primary is gay and he knows that I am gay. I prefer it that way, it just takes some of the awkwardness away.

Hummmmm

I would imagine his fingers would be larger too. Let us know. You'll be able to tell!:D

I doubt anything would happen. He is your doctor afterall. Though, it wouldn't be a horrible thing if you guys did have sex.

Having sex with a patient is just as unethical as sex with a student or a subbordinate.

Oh, and as for the sex with men thing, that is a major risk factor for HIV just as much as family history is for certain cancers. Of course, if it weren't for bi guys, AIDS might be much closer to an exclusively gay male disease in America. (it just so happens that it spread to America through a gay guy and it's spread almost exclusively through blood and sex fluids)

That's not entirely accurate, while initially the HIV epidemic in america surfaced in the gay community, proportionately there are just as many IV drug using gay men as there are straight, not to mention the fact that the CDC knew that HIV was out there for years but blood banks did not routinely screen blood for HIV infection due to a lack of funding, and a lack of understing of how serious the virus was.

The history of the AIDS epidemic both in the US and around the world is a rather interesting (if extremely depressing) study, and a frightening view into probably the most prominent, and most complete failure of virology and epidemiology on record. There are a lot of great books out there about it, including AIDS, While The World SLeeps: The First Twenty Years of the Global AIDS Plague and both the book and the fantastic HBO movie of And the Band Played On

..........................

Anyways, back to the OP, I've had 4 PCP's in my short life, 3 men and 1 woman, all of them straight as far as I know, and every single one on my first visit has asked me about my sexual history and activity, including how often and with which genders I've been active. Unfortunately I've never been able to answer any of them honestly  Thankfully due to my wife's pregnancies and the fact that she's been tested for everything under the sun I know that I got lucky on the STD front what with all of my unsafe runnings around in my early years.

I wouldn't read too much into it, if he's a good doctor he's a good doctor, and if you are active in LGBT circles and/or are confused with your sexuality having an LGBT doctor might definitely make you more comfortable discussing certain aspects of your life and activities. I know it probably would have helped me be more open much earlier.

Though if any doctor actually went so far as to sleep with a patient, of any orientation, they would cease to be a doctor, both in practice and in the legal/licensure senses of the word.

However when it comes to fantasy..... :D

You're an idiot. You're doctor is a professional. Get over it. Get your sex elsewhere.

Well that's good. For me I think it'd be the opposite like to have my doctor be someone I could be interested in as well as someone who could be interested in me.

I dunno'. I'd be more self-conscious and embarrassed about some things. xD

Entricity, not sure I quite understand your post. (but I get confused easily  too lol)

It's not that I would be more self conscious or embarrassed, it's more that I would want my doctor (not to be embarrassed or self conscious), and to understand the normalcy and intimacy and particular issues more associated with gay men. My last primary knew I was gay too, he was straight, and indeed I asked him for a referral to my gay doc (I actually suggested the doc, who I knew, but I needed the referral for my insurance purposes).

The relationship is purely doctor/patient, as it should be.

It is the same with my office. I have two gay assistants, and we have a significant gay client base. However, while there may be the typical chatter that happens when you put 3 or 4 gay men in a room, it is for the most part always professional and never crosses any physical boundaries.

Er.. Mr Hillbilly? There isn't anything to get over. I rarely
ever go to see doctors, unlike
you who should go and see
his shrink every week.

Never thought about it until now...

I went for my annual physical two days ago. I have been going to my gp for over twenty years. He and I have been good friends in every day life. But my last check up was amazing. Not only did I get a great report, this is what happened...

When the nurse left the room from taking my vital signs, she told me to take everything off. I stripped naked, even my watch. I put on the gown and sat patiently for him to cum in. We went over my medications and he ask me the usual questions. I am on testosterone steroid. He asked me how my erections are. I told him I feel like I'm seventeen again. Whenever someone gets into my personal space or touches me, boing! I'm ready to go. He then stands up and comes to me and stands right next to me with his arm around my shoulder. He kind of rubs my neck and back and then asks me to lie down. He takes the top half of the gown down as he checks my chest, squeezing my pecs and nipples, rubbing my belly and sides and checks me with a magnifying glass. Then he raises the gown and checks my toes, feet, legs and lower joints. He feels my cock and massages my nuts gently and checks me with the magnifying glass. I was afraid I would get hard. My gown is off now and I'm naked. He asked me to stand up, he needs to check my prostate. I stand before him, with my elbows on the exam table. He lubed me up slowly inserted his finger. Now I don't know if I imagined it or not, but this part seemed to linger on. It was incredible. He slowly slide his finger in... then he pushed it further in until I could feel his knuckles against my skin. He fingered me in and out, and stroked gently over the gland. He found the gland and massaged it for quite a while. I had pre cum streaming out of my cock. It felt so good I actually moaned with pleasure and sighed with contentment. He wiped off the lube until I was dry. I was standing nude before him. I could feel his eyes going up and down me as I wiped the pre cum from my cock. I could tell I was getting hard. It seemed that with each heartbeat I became more erect as he watched me. He said I looked good, and the gel was working fine. He slowly checked my cock shaft and cock head once again pulling back my foreskin. He gave me a gentle cock stroke pulling my foreskin back over my cock's head and squeezed it softly. It was the most erotic Dr.'s visit I ever had. After we were finished he gave me a long hug and we kissed on the side of our necks. He was so gentle, and his finger felt so good, I can't wait for my next physical.

Let me rephrase that. A prostrate exam is not a sexual act. If you think it is, you're an idiot. Your doctor is a professional, gay or not. You need to separate medical care from sex.
