Writing Goal for the Day?

I'd just like a little point and shoot digital camera. I had a really nice Canon Dimage for a couple of years, but it died. That did video as well, of course, but the Aluratek is a bit better for that, I think. Don't need changeable lenses and I have to confess I'm not sure what SLR is although I've seen the abbreviation before. But people want pics of the kids and it's much easier to use a camera with a flash.

Canon or Minolta? I have an old Minolta 35mm SLR. Loved it, but finally upgraded to digital and have become a fan of Kodak. Lot of bang for your buck, for the kind of shots you're talking about.

I see your point. The Fetish category doesn't get too much traffic. It wouldn't be worth the effort.

Yes... yes, that's the reason! :D

I liked my Canon digital camera. I just need to poke around for another> Walmart, et al, sell some in the $30-$60 range, and I bought one, but then found out, you get what you pay for. So I will just keep looking. I'll keep Kodak in mind, though.

I am going over Numbers Game. Why didn't anyone tell me I went ellipsis happy?!

Is Seven Years After a joint venture between SA PennLady and LettersFrom Tatyana? OMG!! And I had the nerve to quibble this? The Wrath of the Goddesses will descend upon me heavily.

As for point-and-shoot digital cameras, there are any number of decent ones under $100. If you are of an artistic bent, you probably should be spending substantially more and going the SLR route.

Good news. Got the second baby born in "A New Birth of Freedom". Now for a confrontation and a resolution. "Oh you say that you want resolution, well, you know, I don't wanna change the world...."

As for Fetish, I learned my lesson with "Little Dicky". Most views, wretched score, no comments. Bye bye to that genre.

lol, no. But PL has endless patience with me when she reads and comments.

No, I'm just the beta reader. :)

I'll have to find one of those decent ones. My first venture there wasn't great but I'd try again. And no I'm not of an artistic bent, so SLR isn't necessary.

Glad you made story progress!

Well, I'd say you have some patience as I keep saying "but..." ;)

I'm about halfway through Ch 14. Now I'm tired and should be going to bed instead of playing around here.

I found Honeycrisp apples at the store today. Yay!

And GQ's right, around $100 can get you a quality digital camera. High resolution. Panoramic. Decent zoom. Flash. Image stabilization (I think). I've also had a little Sony, btw. Great pics.

More editing done, more ellipses eliminated. ;) And a few sentences on R&B -- better than nothing.

Thanks for the camera info, folks. I'll keep it in mind -- Christmas is coming.

Got Herself a Sony digital 14 megapixel for around $125. She loves it, takes it everywhere, and the 10 meg Canon SLR gathers dust on a shelf. She's a true shutterbug, so it was worth the extra.

That's what I like about those little pocket cameras. They fit just about anywhere. My fave, tho, is my Kodak 980, a full-body SLR with an incredible zoom lens. I've taken many a west Texas sunset with it, and had it when we went to Yosemite. I love it. But it's considerably pricier and bigger.

"But it's considerably pricier and bigger." Yep, the SLRs are much better for the serious amateur or semi-pro photographer, if they don't mind the bulk and can afford the pricetag. But the interchangeable lens jobs cost very serious dollars.

Negotiated the release of the latest chapter from my editor, made the edits, and uploaded the story. Today's mission has already been accomplished.

If I have any time this afternoon I may finish the final two scenes in the next chapter of Desperate Measures. Bonus points if I get that far.

See something like that is just overkill for me. I just need to take pics of my kids and stuff like that. I'm not even a novice photographer. ;)

Good for you. Are you sure that hostage taking is the best strategy for long-term story writing? ;)

For me, continuing to edit NG and work on R&B.

She's been working with me for almost two years now, and she's very good. It's only recently that her turn around time has become problematic. Like most of us, this isn't her real job, and until I start paying her more (>$0), I have no room to complain. My only outlet is to leave snarky comments on the board.

Changing lenses also takes time. I almost lost a great shot of a black bear in Grand Teton because I was busy changing lenses. That was when I decided to go full-body. Of course, if I were a pro, I'd have all the lenses and more than one camera body. But that's a lot of bulk to carry around.

Oh, and I would be working on Ch 14, but there's a problem with my laptop. Need to download a new graphics driver and some other software and hope that's all I need to get my screen working again. If that doesn't work, then I'll have to take it in to see if there's something wrong with the LCD backlight. Never fear, tho, everythings backed up on a flash drive, so I can work off that on my PC until the laptops fixed.

If you have a system that works for you, then all is good. :) And we all enjoy a good snarky comment.

More on R&B, perhaps a bit on something else but mostly I need to cool down b/c I just vacuumed the downstairs and it's hot in here. Damn humidity.

ETA: just steam mopped the kitchen floor. Can I stop now...

Well day 5 for Ch.39 and it is not up yet. Seems like that is happening to everyone lately. Also seems like every time I go to log into my 'control panel" I get the bad gateway. Not sure what these 'updates' are they are running but so far they are doing wonders for us.

On happier note. I am currently chilling in a holiday inn in Buffalo, and going to catch the Pats/Bills tomorrow.

Should be a fun game Bills are scoring quite a bit, and despite what many Patriot kool aid drinkers think our defense (mainly the secondary) is pretty suspect. It should be a shootout.
