Okay, so I think we should have a thread dedicated to the OH SO BEAUTIFUL Bettie Page and other pinup girls of the 40s and 50s and the pinup art as well. Surely I'm not the only one who adores these beauties? :)

They say that imitation is the biggest form of flattery or whatever. That being said, it seems like the Suicide Girls are a modern form of the pinup girl and so is Flo from the Progressive commercials even. That's cool and all, but to me they still cannot hold a candle to Bettie. She was a pioneer ahead of her time.

So, who else out there is a fan of her or other pinup girls??? :) Anyone? Anyone?

Nose art

I love the pin up girls of the 40's and 50's. I think the best example is the nose art on WWII bombers.

I didn't know who Bettie Page is (was) and looked her up. Wow she was an attractive woman. The little sly smile was incredibly delish. Even though I am usually blond I really like gals with darker hair. Thank you for bringing her to my attention.

This beauty was found on the WWII Army Air Corps B24 Bomber. :)

And Bettie did many photo shoots from BDSM to semi or fully nude to bikini and lingerie shots.

Mae West is another classic beauty. :)

The politically correct police would shit a moose to see that pic on a military anything now I imagine.

Nose Art

That is a beauty, the Germans painted sharks mouths a spirals... we paint gorgeous women. Got to love the difference in cultures lol

The 40s were a simplier time. :) No worries of uptight feminists screaming SEXUAL HARASSMENT at the slightest of compliments from a man.

Bettie, Mae, Marilyn and others oozed sexuality and loved it!

Ya know there is a reason I put a pic of my boobs in my profile and that same reason is why I will sometimes wear an off the neck shirt or a blouse showing more than usual. It's because I want the attention. Women of yesterday that knew what they wanted and weren't afraid to flaunt their sexuality were incredible. I have spent the last several minutes getting caught up on Bettie and her bio and images from google. Very sexy indeed.

I know what you mean Fmature. :) Hopefully it will become a popular thread, HornyExecutive!

Look forward to many more pinup pics.... perhaps even the ladies of lit might make an appearance. Nothing like the teasing poses, outfits and the aura of sexuality they exude.

there is something rather classy about the pinup girls. it begs of a more simple time, but more than that for me is the intrigue that was created by the pinup photos. call me a bit old fashion, but what they wore, how they acted and what was hidden made it sexy.

Wasn't she a Ziegfeld girl? Olive something. Did some early stuff for David Selznick's studio, if I remember right.

Me - I'm a Theda Bara fan. She was the original film sex symbol - back before there was a Hollywood.
