One of my stories has disappeared?

Does this happen often?

Had a story on site - got pulled after 3 weeks; is this a matter of opinion from critics?

I'm gutted!

Have had to re-jig, and re-submit a tamer version.

(hope those who read the original enjoyed it! - obviously some did not!)

I don't find your post clear. You were informed it was pulled by the Web site and told to resubmit a tamer version?

If not, have you PM'd Laurel to find out exactly what the problem is?

Let me Explain;

I had a succesfully submitted story- a couple of reviews; 'mixed'. It has been on site for about 3 weeks.

I had 7 submissions in total, and was eagerly awaiting this to go to 8, as I have two more in the pipeline.

I looked today and found I have 6 submissions!

The story in question has been 'pulled' ; the 'rejected' reason as 'too much of a horror' or the like; can't see this now as I chopped the finale and re-wrote it to appease, and re submitted- it's now 'Pending'.

Who is 'Laurel' - how do I 'pm' him/her? ; I don't mind refusals, but this is a bit strange!

So, as I understand it, a submission was rejected. It didn't get published to the list and then was pulled; it never got published.

Yes, in that case, you need to make changes or discuss the issue with the editor if you really want it to go as it is. If you want to rewrite some of the horror out of it, you can do that and resubmit. A resubmission will take as long to post as the first submission took.

If you want to discuss the issue with the editor, you could resubmit the story and they put your discussion in the "notes" box. That will ensure the human editor sees it and it doesn't just get siphoned off by the program bot again.

Laurel is the site editor. To message her directly (although that doesn't look like your problem here), send a PM, a private message. The private messages are accessed at the top right of this screen. Write in "Laurel" as the addressee and it should get to her. Don't e-mail. The Web administrators don't respond to e-mail.

There is a report this story tab at the end of every story. Apparently someone took offense to your story and then reported it.

Whatever it contained obviously made it through the "bot" and was published, but as I said there is a feature where people can complain about a story.

At that point an actual person will look at it and they obviously saw something they felt went against the rules.

Well, the one thing you haven't said is what the original story was about. Hard to answer with no info or context.

PennLady (and LC and sr) are quite right. With little background we struggle to help you.

Given a reasonably grammatical story that was originally accepted for publication for 3 weeks, you must have fallen foul of someone reporting you for breaching the site's guidelines. Lit always gives reasons for non-acceptance but you haven't posted them here.

Lit never pulls a story based on critics' opinion; only if you've broken the rules. Post the Lit reject sllip and we might be able to help you.

Thanks

Thanks for making this clear- no-one had explained this before.

I'll send my more adult tales to other sites from now on, and concentrate on 'Romantic BDSM' with this one!

No more eliminations of the main character; even if he is willing!

If your oblique reference means 'snuff' erotica then that explains the deletion. Like under-18 sex and bestiality, Lit stays clear of snuff (and necrophilia), not just to avoid any risk of being attacked but also where the site looks to place itself in the spectrum of online erotica.

Though not my preferred genre, the BDSM (and Non-Consent) on Lit goes a long way beyond your jibe of 'Romantic BDSM' - try the top lists.

Given what is available here, I think you mean you'll take your more extreme - not 'adult' - stories elsewhere to sites that cater for that kind of fiction. Good luck but you impugn Lit greatly by implying it only serves up 'Harlequin romance'.

Tahnk's Elfin, but no- that's not what I was implying of Literotica- I know this site caters for 'adult' content but will not cater for the categories you have mentioned. I respect that fact and will avoid those subjects- it was only the one story I had any issue with, as it was published and then disappeared.

I greatly appreciate this site and will continue to make it my main point of contact with tales; if I get the urge to venture onto the dark side again, I'll go elsewhere with it.

Hope one and all are clear on this now!
