A sign at an Ohio high school football game has some outraged over what they say is racism but others are saying the sign refers to Internet slang. After Kirtland High School beat rival Painesville Harvey, Kirtland fans unveiled a large sign that read, "You Mad, Bro?" The president of the Lake County, Ohio, chapter of the NAACP called the sign "racial intimidation." The Painesville, Ohio, superintendent agreed. He said, "The sign definitely has a racial connection to it." However, the term is also a common saying on the Internet. If someone gets angry online in a forum or comments section, "u mad bro?" is often used as another way to say the person got the best of them. Whether the sign was in fact racist or just Internet slang, the principal of Kirtland High said there will be a thorough investigation. What's your take on the sign? Tell us on Facebook and Twitter.

I am 48 years old and have used the Term all my life. I never realized till now I was racist. Thank you NAACP.

Didn't say you were. And you weren't violating fair use, which is my biggest pet peeve, but I found what you posted interesting enough to want to know the story. I googled and found more robust stories than the one you posted.

My thoughts exactly.

No matter what you do or say in America somebody gets offended. I think we need to have a big pity party for all the crying bitches then turn a hose on them.

Actually, the only time I get called nigga is on wow, by black guildies. Still make me uncomfortable.

Would you please do America a favor and put a loaded shotgun to your mouth and pull the trigger? You may need to do it twice, as hard as your head is.

PS: whites will not be a majority after 2050. Non-white babies outnumbered white babies as of 2011. You can try to lash out at me because of the severe ass-whupping that just got handed down to you, but you cannot escape THE DECLINE OF THE OH SO SUPERIOR GREAT WHITE RACE HAHHAHAHAHAHAHHAA

It's tricky. It was probably innocent but you have to look at how it may be taken by some people. A mostly-white school holding up a sign saying "You mad, bro?" towards a mostly-black school's team sounds like it has a racial spin on it to me. It sounds like they're mocking black speech patterns. That doesn't mean I necessarily think it was intended that way. It's bad judgement though.

My high school was a white, wealthy, Ivy League feeder. We had a cheer that we used when we were using that went like this:

"That's alright,
That's okay,
You're going to work for us someday"

Students did this cheer when losing to schools which were often black. That cheer was eventually banned but only after many years. Was there a racial element?

You can't be racist online? As long as you're running an Avatar of some sort? How does that work?

As President of the Racist American Action Heroes League I approve use of the word BRO.
