Brain storm

just wanted a thread to toss around ideas and see if anything clicks. So many threads are closed now a days, and the rest seem inexperienced...LOL *thinking all the good ones are taken and the rest are handicapped line about parking places*

Plus an inordinate number of threads seem to be BDSM, Incest, or sci fi.

Not that I mind a little B n D, or sci fi, or the occasional incest thread, but when so many titles are asking for it, then it's sort of an overload

So anyone got a random original (or deliberate and unoriginal) idea that needs a little more fleshing out before going full thread ahead?

(and I really hate when one person, who I will not name, posts the same two story intros over and over again)

or when one person jumps on all the lesbian threads.....ARGH

Everyone's got to go at some time: No one lives forever. But what if at the exact moment of your death you could go back and live any moment in time over but change things and re-experience those moments if they had played out differently.

So what would a confirmed bachelor do over when death came for him?



Plaything of the gods: When Zeus and Hera fight, the mortals suffer. Or do they? Zeus's way is to find a young lass and have his way with her. But maybe this time Hera is going to have her divine rights with a mortal.




How do you use your muse?: As an artist, its been one failure after another. While everyone recognizes the talent and skill in your paintings, you just don't have the social connections. Till one night when a mysterious stranger offers to introduce you to the 'right people' but only on one condition. Once a year you have to join them in a secret location and 'paint' them, and if they aren't satisfied, they promise ruin upon you.



How's that for three original ideas?

I just like to brain storm since typically i have a few things on my mind and if I thread em, or post in the wanted section of the rpg then i end up involved in more writing than i intended.


What about a ghost that keeps taking over trying to correct their own failures and frustrations, and can't seem to get it right?

What about a mermaid or siren (haven't seen many non human ideas other than vampires and werewolves of late) who is dismayed when she ends up drowning her lovers during sex?

What would yo give a year of your life for? sort of a deal with a demon thing but noone gives up their soul anymore, so they ask for a year of your life, sometimes meaning you'll die a year early, other times claiming person's service for a year, question is after the year is up do you go back and enjoy the thing you bartered for? or are you addicted to servicing demon?

I usually don't go in for fairy lore. Yet, I think it would be the utmost in awesomeness to craft a story line based on the idea that a Practicing Faery Wiccan finds a mound and enters it...or calls to herself a Dark Sidhe. Something she wasn't expecting. Someone who is even more dark, demented, even abusive than she herself is.

What could one craft from that? Which way would the story go? The truth is~some knowledge of Faery Lore would be required, some base knowledge of paganism a plus...but even without it...how dark, how twisted could the story get if you had the right co writer?

Another idea that won't leave me~

A marriage~ in some sort of future time where gayness is the norm and heterosexuality is an oddness. Two people, both nominally gay, enter into a contracted marriage to reproduce the expected 1.5 children.

How do you craft a story line where the sexuality of either character means that they will not ever be happy to be together? Can you make the story resonate with something more than love? Something deeper than hetero sex?

Actually, I think thats a brilliant idea for a story. So many marriages are miserable (orientation aside), this could easily be a commentary on that, and on what love and marriage even mean

*nods* I have been debating writing an opening post for this...maybe in my haven, detailing the land itself...and the idea behind it...but it is soo intricate that i have no idea if it would come out the way i want it to.

Luna and I are trying to flesh out an idea about a giant robot that is the basis for the legends of Thor, and the trouble that comes from a person who refuses to believe in gods ending up being drawn into an interstellar conflict by getting into the cockpit.

perhaps all marriage are same gender and they end up contracting out for a opposite sex partner to create a child, it would be an automatic trio, but i see it more as a happy way to be in a commited gay union and have children.

On a totally different note I searched stories for Jekyll and Hyde and was dissapointed at the results. Someone needs to do a good jekyll hyde story

The truth of it is, that I would almost certainly have to base bits of it on myself and my own journey toward queerness...only reverse engineered. (SO that I could start at where I am now and flip it...) The problem would be two fold.

If I wanted to write it as an SRP HERE, who could I get to write the male...with some sort of integrity, without falling into the bias that seems to exist whenever one writes a gay male for a story?

Me too...I'm not deserving of it after such neglect

But how can you not fall in love with Aella and Sophia?
