Does Anyone Know What Is Wrong With The ^%$@!*&#$ "Submission" Page?

For the past THREE days I have been trying to submit a story (I have submitted a few stories in the past year or so). Each time I go down the submission form (carefully filling out all the required fields), when I hit the "Preview" button, absolutely NOTHING happens. I've tried this MULTIPLE times with the same result. No message; No hourglass; NOTHING. I sent a number of emails to different people (Webmaster, Laurel, etc. etc.) with ABSOLUTELY NO RESPONSE.

So, in accordance with the instructions I sent the story via email and, as is policy, filled out the first part of the form with "Story sent by email" in the story block. Same result; the author MUST go through the "preview" process in order to send ANYTHING. The "preview" button is COMPLETELY DEAD. Has anyone else run into this problem and how do you get around it?

Thanks.

My submissions page is working as usual. Does sound like you have a problem. The Web administrators don't respond to e-mails (their bad--they claim they do, but don't, and yet have left this false guidance on the Web site for years without doing anything about it). To contact Laurel, the editor, you need to send her a PM (private message)--see the upper right of this page. Even then, it's touch and go on response. Good luck.

Thanks

Yes, I PM'd her yesterday and haven't had any response. So, your "preview" button is "Live". Your formatted story returns? How long did it take? I was getting so desperate that I left the computer for 15 minutes and let it run. The result was NOTHING....

Yes. Mine worked yesterday and Monday, so I'd say it was working fine. The formatted story came back instantly in the preview box. I use the "copy/paste in the submissions box" method and it works just fine. Chances are that you are pushing the wrong button to initiate the program somehow, but it's still a problem until someone walks you through it.

Thanks Again

Well, Maybe. However, I've submitted five stories in the past without a hitch. I tried it multiple times using both the the copy/paste and "load from file" methods. When I finally emailed the story in, I went back and keyed in "story sent by email" in the "story block" and clicked on the "preview" button as required. Same story; the "preview" button is totally dead. There is no message or hourglass to let me know what the system is doing.

It really ticks me that no one will even lift a finger to answer my question....

Thanks again.

Try logging out and back in. Sometimes that will reset account glitches.

Update your browser or try a different one. It's possible the one you're using got corrupted somehow.

Try a different one. The latest version of Firefox, in particular, is known for not playing nicely with some web-sites.

I use the latest version of Firefox on two different computers and have no troubles with Lit of any kind.

I keep all three of my pen names on different browsers, just to save the trouble of logging out and logging in when I want to post new stories in a different name than Dark, which I use as my forum posting ID.

No trouble with IE, Chrome, or Firefox, though I haven't updated Firefox to the latest version due to some troubling user reports about it.

To the OP: If this isn't the URL you're using to access your member section, try it:

http://www.literotica.com/members/submissions.php

It may be possible that the :81 or any of the other versions of the URL, if you're using them, are the problem.
