I once loved to spend time here reading the post and trying to learn to know a bit about the people who made them. I could hardly wait to post my first stories. However that is when I began to see the other, darker side of this site and in a way this whole system of communication.

My story was posted and earned a red H, however a few weeks later I answered another writer’s question about underage sex and my story was taken down. I tried to go along with the rules and tried to rewrite the story, but it wasn’t the same. I tried to write what would pass the censors but found that the fun was gone so I quit.

This is the first time that I have been back in some time and I see that the site is dying a slow death. I think the thing that is killing this site is the same thing that is killing the United States, in a word, intolerance.

There used to be a spirit here that is not here anymore. We used to be outlaws together coming here to our own place to be together and tell dirty tales to one another. It was a good time and a good place.

Now there is political shit and personal dislikes that rule the forums, the same sort of debates and bullshit that you can watch on TV news.

I don't need anymore of that.

When I dropped in here in during the Bush days, it was those complaining about political threads today who were on their high horse about how the country was being ruined by him.

And now that they shoe is on the other foot, they say how bad it is around here with all the dissent and political threads. Well boohoo. This place has been this way since who knows when, its just the people bringing the light to the place are not them.

Times change, so should you. While I don't hate Cloudy, what she does is hateful. It was okay for her to lambaste Bush, but it's not all right for me to lambaste DerPrezBo, so where is that freedom of speech we are all so gung ho about?

It would have been nice if we could have gotten some of the voters to listen to us, maybe we could have stopped your man Bush before he totally wrecked this country. But we couldn't, you and your sort drowned us out and we had to ride the Bush train into this station of pain and hardship.

It is bad enough that you and your friends have brung us to this but to have to listen you you blame Obama for your movement's stupidity is more then I care to do.

I will leave this site to you and you can pretend that you have something to say that is worth listening to.

As for who ruined the country, history will tell, but just so it's clear, Congress are the ones that make the law, the budget, approve the funding for all those pet projects of theirs. The Pres may suggest things he would like to see done, but it's ultimately Congress that does the dirty work.

An interesting point, but the problem is that too many folk reckon its more about politics than writing, especially the AH.
Write about writing and leave the political crap to others; just a thought.

I wrote a story about a man coming to terms with his gayness and how it had affected his relationship with his father. This is a grown man returning from his father's funeral thinking back on his childhood, yet it was refused because of underage sex. That is intolerance, and that is the same thing that has our country in the deep dodo.

The fun of writing is to let your mind soar and be able to take your reader with you. There should be as few barriers as possible on a site like this because of the very fact that it is a sex site.

I know the point of view that it is their site and they can make the rules. I can understand that point of view but if we followed that viewpoint you would still have colored restrooms and drinking fountains.

I feel that the same people who would cheer on the political terrorist that have threatened to wreck the standing of america, would back a rigid black or white divide of what is underage sex and what is not. If the story does not arouse an interest in sexual contact with a minor, or threaten to provoke damage to a child by making underage sex more acceptable to the reader, then the story should not be considered being a carrier of underage sex.

I would not come here if this was a kiddie porn site, but there is a lot of room for improvement with the underage policy.

Having said all that, this is still the best story site on the web for my money. A place where you can put your stories up and be read by half a million people. It is still pretty damn cool and I am proud to have my stories accepted and enjoyed by so many. I just regret that we can't have the freedom to show how our players find themselves in the roles they fill in our stories.

The political invective on the AH is a pale imitation of what occurs in the political threads on the General Board, but HP has a real point. Avoiding the political threads is possible in the Authors' Hangout. Almost every thread on the General Board attracts political name-calling.

I agree with some of the other comments made on this thread. However I don't think is is ever correct to let some guy trash common sense and be silent while some poor fool might be swayed by what this guy is saying. I think that while he sits around drooling over his mom's underware and writing his incest stories he should keep his political views to himself.

The title of this thread is a political subject, if the site wants to keep politics contained to the general board then they should have moved it when Zeb first posted it. If he is allowed to post false facts and claim that they are true then everybody who reads it should be expected to protest his lies and expose the truth to your readers.

But lets try to keep it from this one segment of the site free from hate. I can do that but several of the posters like Zeb here seem to only know how to hate and lambast. I really wouldn't care what he/she thought but it seems that a good part of america seems to agree with him and as a group they are ruining this country.

Do the more mainstream readers here really think that we should keep it polite and not talk about it?

We are in a fight for our country here and I find it hard to believe that there are so many like our friend Zeb who seem to take delight in the death of our free country. I for one will oppose this kind of shit whereever I find it.
