Shocker: Joe Wilson Was Right When He Said “You Lie” — HHS Says ObamaCare-Funded Health Centers For “Migrants” Won’t Check Immigration Status…

He did lie, just as Joe Wilson predicted when Obama claimed his health care law wouldn’t cover illegals.

(CNS News) — The Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) announced on Tuesday that it has awarded $28.8 million to 67 community health centers with funds from the Obamacare health reform law.

Of that $28.8 million, “approximately $8.5 million will be used by 25 New Access Point awardees to target services to migrant and seasonal farm workers,” Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) Spokeswoman Judy Andrews told CNSNews.com. HRSA is a part of HHS.

Andrews said that grant recipients will not check the immigration status of people seeking services.

“Health centers do not, as a matter of routine practice, ask about or collect data on citizenship or other matters not related to the treatment needs of the patients seeking health services at the center,” Andrews said.

Further, the grant recipients are required to serve “all residents” who walk through their doors.

“The Program’s authorizing statute does not affirmatively address immigration status,” said Andrews. “Rather, it simply states that health centers are required to provide primary health care to all residents of the health center’s service area without regard for ability to pay.”

These Obamacare disbursements seem to contradict a claim President Obama famously made in a nationally televised speech to a joint session of Congress on Sept. 9, 2009.

“The reforms I’m proposing would not apply to those who are here illegally,” Obama said then.

When Obama said these words, Rep. Joe Wilson (R-S.C.) shouted out from the House floor: “You lie!” After the speech, Wilson called the White House and apologized for his remark and issued a statement saying he was sorry for it and President Obama accepted his apology. However, five days later, led by then-Majority Leader Steny Hoyer (D.-Md.), the House voted 240-179 to rebuke Wilson for his outburst on the House floor.

NBC exposed NASA for losing and misplacing equipment in April. Now, we have new totals and a congressman is taking action against the agency.

NASA runs on a lot of expensive equipment, and apparently it can't keep track of its own stuff.

From computers to high-tech cameras, the space agency has lost more than $12-million worth of equipment.

In April, NBC exposed the Kennedy Space Center, which could not account for $650,000 in equipment.

"We are starting to implement different efforts, as I mentioned, to reduce that number towards zero," said Dr. Woodrow Witlow, a NASA associate administrator, speaking at a Senate hearing in March.

This week, we've learned there is missing equipment at all of NASA's facilities.

Some of the most expensive items include something called a servo control unit, worth $270,000, a $169,688 mini computer and $119,000 in laser equipment.

After showing him our findings, Congressman Connie Mack says he's now demanding an audit of the agency.

"That $12-million that they lost is somebody's hard-earned money that they earned that the federal government took from them," said Mack.

Two General Accounting Office reports warned NASA had a poor tracking system a few years ago, but the numbers have not improved.

From 2009 to 2010, the cost of missing equipment increased to $2.4-million.

"That's the accountability of bureaucracies. The accountability is out the window," said Mack.

At the time of this posting, NASA did not respond to questions about this story.

Did you read the list of equipment that can't be found? It's a bunch of laptops, wet-vacs, servers, etc. Um, a cordless screwdriver?

A $56,000 vacuum chamber? Did an employee walk out with it? No, the vast majority of this is just crap that nobody signed for when they took it to their department. The wet-vac is in the 3rd floor janitorial closet instead of the 4th floor one, therefore it's "missing".

Here's a good one from the list: "PORTABLE PENTIUM COMPUTER" dated 1997. Hmm, an obsolete laptop that certainly doesn't function and was likely thrown out eight years ago. That's $6,153 added to the list. In fact there are scads of laptops that are 17 years old on this list that were certainly thrown out long, long ago. Would you count that as a current waste issue?

A $7000 laptop from 1990 and it's $535 monitor from 1986? Seriously?
