I am going to rape someone

My ex had this weird fantasy about being raped, she said it really turned her on...not actually being raped, of course, but in the fantasy it just "works out" you know. I guess more like being dominated and handled roughly.

Please stay off-topic.

note how you didnt argue about any of the other points

No time. I am what I am. I an okay with who I am. Not homophobic, but if you want to brand me as such, have at it. It won't hurt by feelings.

It's a known fetish, the whole rape thing. Some even call it "attraction" rape.

that's sexual roleplay...

holy shit.. that reminds me of another dumb arguement of his about " attraction rape"

at least that got cleared up

Okay, so, this idea about "racist" being thrown around without merit is dead.

Good.

No. Not dead. There is merit at time because there are some here with those beliefs. But sometimes it's thrown around for no reason.

Like when I made that "You rike my crit" thread that perpetuated a stereotype (Asians cannot say the L sound). I was called a racist.

Not racism, just dumb and incorrect perpetuation of a stereotype.

Not incorrect. Have you been to Chinatown, or the far east? It is difficult for Asians to say the L word. Just like it is difficult for Americans to roll the R (rrrrrr) while Hispanics/itaians can do it easily.

I know many, many Asian people. None of the ones I know have problems pronouncing "L". I also know plenty of Americans who have no trouble roulling their "R"s when necessary - which is quite often where I live, given the Hispanic population and dialect.

There - I just completely debunked both of your stereotypes in one post. And that's why stereotypes are stupid. If absolute statements like "It is difficult for Asians to say the L word" - and that's an absolute statement - can be disproven this easily, they hold no value whatsoever.

Convince me otherwise.

You've actually debunked nothing because you did not hear it. I have. Many Chinese/Japanese (whose native tongue if not English, and are just learning English, or do not have command of English) have a hard time pronouncing the L sound. It can be done though with practice.

Same for the rrrrr sound. I can barley do it. I know a few that can, but most I know cannot. I know it can be done with practice.

What a sad world t world be if we had to qualify each and every statement (like I had to do above). Gosh,

You've actually debunked nothing because you did not hear it.

My hearing is fine. You're just in denial because you're obviously wrong.

Many Chinese/Japanese

So, now it's "many". Changing the definition once faced with the truth...

Same for the rrrrr sound. I can barley do it.

What does that prove? Nothing. Just like you being a total idiot doesn't mean all Americans are idiots.

What a sad world t world be if we had to qualify each and every statement (like I had to do above). Gosh,

Your definition of "qualify" is other people's definition of "correct". Get it right the first time, and it wouldn't have been necessary.

My hearing is fine. You're just in denial because you're obviously wrong.

Now we are getting into a "he said he said." No sense discussing further.

So, now it's "many". Changing the definition once faced with the truth...

Because when we speak of stereotypes, we say "XXX people are YYY." We do not qualify. They're stereotypes. They exist. do not like it? tough.

What does that prove? Nothing. Just like you being a total idiot doesn't mean all Americans are idiots.

The rrrr sound example proves that people not native to a language have difficulty speaking in that language. It s not rocket science. I bet the Japs have stereotypes for Americas. Oh, that's right, they do. They call us Round Eyes. Google it.

Uh, they are stereotypes. And by definition, a stereotype paints with a broad brush. Geez.

I can call you an idiot for relying on stereotype, and any intelligent person will say I'm right. There's your "tough".

1. I'm sorry you have such a poor understanding of language. Perhaps, if you'd had a better education, you would have had more exposure to the world and world dialect as it really is; maybe even have had a chance to study abroad. But you should accept that you're woefully deficient in this area.

2. You're trying to justify stereotypes by saying "They do it too"? That's called running out of ammo.

Your turn.

I can call you an idiot for relying on stereotype, and any intelligent person will say I'm right. There's your "tough".

You can all me anything you want. I am wondering aloud now: <I wonder where these stereotypes came from if they are untrue. Were they made up, conjured from nothing? Or were they created after witnessing an act of some sort>

I am certain you are just being contrary now because you refuse to believe that people have difficulty adapting to a new language.

Face it: Stereotypes exist whether you like it or not.

A good question - though, to be fair, it's a question most young people have answered for them before they hit ninth grade. I can't explain why you don't know the answer by now.

Stereotypes come from a number of places. Yes, quite a few of them are "made up"(unless you can provide me consistent scientific evidence that blondes are dumber? Didn't think so). And they're made up for a variety of reasons. Black men being "womanizers" - a stereotype from before the turn of last century - was made up by the white majority as part of promoting fear and division amongst the races. But - and I'm suspecting this part is a little too deep for you to understand - some stereotypes persist because they indirectly help those being stereotyped. i.e. a blonde girl claims she screwed up on her exam because, after all, she's a "dumb blonde", or a young black man justifies his indiscretions with women because it's "in his blood" (and he doesn't see being labeled a "womanizer" as a bad thing). Despite that, the point is that there's no proof either stereotype factually exists, and thus stereotypes are useless to describe an entire demographic. They are only used by those who have no worldly understanding of people and wish to describe said world to comply with their prejudices, whether it helps them, or demeans others. You do the latter.

(You're welcome.)

Face it: Stereotypes exist whether you like it or not.

Sure they exist, dummy. They're just not true.

Disagree? Factual evidence that blondes are dumber. Go find it.

No thanks. You picked a stereotype that was silly (dumb blondes). As for "in this blood" certainly you realize that in some cultures, men are considered to be much more "womanizing" than US men. Sometimes stereotypes derive from this. A cultural thing based on observation.

Sure they exist, dummy.

Nice to see you still possess the inability to discuss without the use of insults.

They're all silly, obviously. Saying all blondes are dumb is no more ridiculous than saying all Asians can't pronounce "L". To think differently is idiotic, yet you do.

This ought to be good. Please, continue about the black "culture", womanizing, and observation.

And, if you're unwilling to, explain why. After all, your claim is that sterotypes have a factual basis. *popcorn*

You insult people all the time on here.

Oh, I see where we went astray. You think that I think all people described by a stereotype behave as defined by that stereotype. Of course I do not think that. I think some people behave as the defined by some stereotypes.

That puts this issue to bed.

I did not mention Black Culture. You did. To deny the existence of any culture that is more womanizing than any other culture (for example) is silly. And once that observation s made, a stereotype is born.

That puts this issue to bed.

Do your own searches.

That puts this issue to bed.

I only insulted, as far as I can recall, Purple Haze. I called him a loser because he is a pot smoker and tried to cheat on a urinalysis test for a new job.

That puts this issue to bed.

Then, what's the practical use of putting any credence into a stereotype?

To deny the existence of any culture that is more womanizing than any other culture (for example) is silly. And once that observation s made, a stereotype is born.

Then you should be able to provide proof. Yet you still do not. Again, which culture is more "womanizing" than another? Explain how a stereotype was born from such a thing. If it's true, you have nothing to worry about.

If stereotypes have any basis in fact, no one should be shy in defending them. You clearly are. You just want them to be true and not be accountable for explaining why. That makes you weak.

The burden of proof is on you; you've been asked to demonstrate how the "womanizing" stereotype is based in fact. So this response of yours is an instant fail. It's a classic cop-out.

You insult people all the time. You're currently insulting Luke and QueenLevitra in your sig ("Classic Gay Post", "Chased Sin off of Lit").

I'm not sure if you feel like you've made headway having discussions with other posters here, but I'm not letting you off that easy. Either slink away, or raise the level of your discourse.

This is becoming tiresome.

I accept stereotypes to exist.
I believe some stereotypes were born from actual observations
I believe some stereotypes were not born from observation (e.g. dumb blondes were created by Hollywood as far I can can tell).

Burden of proof might be on me, but I do not simply care enough. You have access to Google. Prove me wrong. It should be easy for you to do if you believe you are right.

You deny that any stereotype was based on observation. That's fine. We agree to disagree.

Make no mistake: this is backtracking on what you've said previously. But at least you're starting to sound more sane.

Stereotype. Noun: A widely held but fixed and oversimplified image or idea of a particular type of person or thing: "sexual and racial stereotypes".
