Swords Sex and Sorcery (Group thread OOC)

We do?

Huh. I hadn't noticed.

I assure you that mine and his are very different, so consistence isn't really an issue. By what I've read the werewolves that attacked the village were feral, having lost all sense of humanity still inside them. They really are Werewolves.

Revennaras, however, is a Lycan. There is an unfortunate mix-up in the terms, and they are not interchangeable. I consider the Lycans to be true Werewolves, as Werewolves in my book are not mindless beasts that go around randomly attacking villages.

Lycans willingly change forms, whereas Werewolves are forced into the change.

But Werewolves and Lycans are the same thing, they are both someone who turns in to a wolf, and Avellans story didnt say anything about them being feral, just that a pack of werewolves attacked his village, it was quite inspecific about what exactly happened, just that it did.

And that's where you're wrong. They are very, very different.

As I said earlier, Werewolves are forced into the change and lose their minds when they do, not recognizing friend or family. Lycans control their change and retain their minds when doing so, thus remaining intelligent. THAT is what separates them. A werewolf when changed is little more than a mindless beast. A Lycan when changed still possesses his or her own mind.

A pack of Lycans would not randomly attack a village and slaughter the inhabitants. That is something a beast would do.

There is no set definition of Werewolf and Lycan, its a creature that doesnt exist, Avellan may be playing it diffrently to the way you describe, which is why I'm saying the two of you should get together and be sure your storys are straight.

Also, a pack of Lycans could randomly attack a village, because maybe that pack of lycans were kinda dicks, maybe they were being paid, maybe there was an ancient prophesy that commanded them to do so and they obeyed, you never know.

You make a fair point on both accounts. You haven't read the same books I have, so I fully understand why you wouldn't understand the difference. Ever seen Harry Potter, though? In one of the movies they say the difference that is generally taken as the law differing the two species.

But I'm not about to start taking movies as something that is real, so I'm just going to say that they are different species and no consistence is required.

I will talk to Avellen, however.

Thank you, it doesnt matter what the two of you decide on to me, I just think its best to be sure everyone is on the same page.

That said, the thought that they are a diffrent species begs the question of can a werewolf infect a Lycan and make some kind of super double werewolf? Casue that would be cool.

Of course, of course. It wouldn't do for me to say something and have him say the exact opposite.

And cool as that would be, I'm not sure it's quite possible, no. Kind of like a vampire infecting a werewolf and making a Hybrid. According to Underworld it works, but it's a silly thought, to be honest. They are two different races that have been at war as long as anyone can remember. Two different genetic codes. Mutating someone that much just doesn't seem plausible to me.

I won't say that a bite would be like poison, but it would probably hurt. Alot. I mean, more so than with anyone else.

As I said before :
If there's still room for one character, I'll be happy to join you. And if there are too many men, I'd be happy to try a feminine character (I already played some during both SRP and pen and paper RPG). Just let me know if I have to create a character...

I hope this one works for you...

Class/profession: princess-fighter
Race: Human, although her royal lineage remains with some drops of ancient magical blood somewhere
Age: 21
Equipment: Sanctified long sword engraved with runes (heir of her royal lineage), golden necklace from unknown origin found in some strange ruins months ago, leather coat adorned with metal for protection.
Skills: raised as a princess, Saundelle learned all the tricks of living in high society, including fine talk, charming, manipulation. All that went with a lot of sword-wielding too.
Powers: no real powers although she developped quite a sense of acrobatics and running. Besides, there is said that her blood has still some magic in it from the old ages of her lineage and that one day these old things might come to her help.
Other:
Personality: Cold and distant at first, Saundelle might become really playfull and freindly once her trust is earned. She is although reluctant to give her trust to anyone.
History: Raised as a princess and future heir of a kingdom, Saundelle was quite taken back when her father's castle was raided and her family killed. The plot had been put very wisely by different men in the castle and an outside force. now she runs the roads in order to raise money and an army in order to come back and take her castle from those foes. She doesn't know who they are, she just fled by chance as she was playin in the gardens near an escape route. It was years ago, she was 17 only.

Just so all of you know, I follow the D&D rules on lycanthropes AKA werewolves, wererats, werebears, wereboars, weretigers, etc.

I hope this one works for you...

I was putting it up so AngelLightheart knew the gender ratio. I didn't know you had one in the first post.

What's the ship design like, or are we not going to be on the ship long enough to worry about one. Just wondering?

I would imagine that we will be getting off soon.

Is this everyone that's going to be posting?
