N00b! I'm nervous!

So this all started with a friend of mine encouraging my naughty side to write. He's read part of one story (which I've got ready to post on my blog and submit here) and gave it rather good feedback. Another friend happens to be a member here, and encouraged me to join. I've recently started reading erotica and have found it rather enjoyable.

But I'm nervous to post, and to start really writing. I love to write, but feel... I dunno... like this is foreign territory for me.

Any support, suggestions, words of wisdom, or any other... whatever?

Thanks in advance :)

Welcome, and best of luck! Looking forward to reading your first submission...

Welcome to AH, Brielle. It's one of the more interesting and enjoyable ways for a writer to put off actually working. :)

Stalker joke aside, I told Brielle about this place & beta-read her first story.

She's jumping right off the deep end, it's a Loving Wives LOL.
I'm debating telling her to turn the feedback off.

Uh oh, James... Should I be MORE nervous?!

Putting it in terms that'll make sense, stories about cheating wives, in terms of the vehemence in the feedback, is like starting an "e word" thread.
There's a hardcore group of haters who'll pounce to scream about it lol.

Read, Write, Submit, Take your lumps, learn, repeat as necessary.

Unless you are doing something fetishy icky. Don't tell me if you do, it gives me shivers.

I could tell you this story about her & a Mountain Dew bottle in a hotel hallway that'd just kill you.

Hi, Brielle, and welcome to Literotica and to the AH. This is a nice place to hang out when you need an excuse to not write. To really get your naughty side working, you should post nude photos of yourself, front and rear views. If you want, you can keep your face covered, but that is not intended to be an insult. :)

The Loving Wives category is the one that gets flamed the most by readers. Some people hate to see a cheating wife get caught and others hate to see her not get caught and some even hate it if she is faithful to her husband. Whatever you write, at least one of those groups will take offense and write nasty comments. When I get such a comment, I take it as a compliment that I got somebody riled up. :)

Brielle, welcome to the AH!

Loving Wives is a battle ground of two or three factions.

There will be one that simply loves your story, thinks it great and will tell you so.

There is another who will tell you how sick and disgusting you are to participate in something like this and call your husband a wimp and a cuckold. This group doesn't get that you write fiction.

Then there are those who just hate everything in the category and dump on everyone who posts. They also hope everyone gets AIDs and dies.

Don't worry, most of the readers that comment are some of the worst writers around and should give you a pretty good laugh. I have several different types of LW stories posted, the comments are diverse to say the least.

Yeah, what Box said too!

Welcome to Lit and the AH, Brielle. :rose:

You've picked an interesting cat in which to debut. LW draws more loons, trolls, feebs, dorks and dweebs than any other cat here. They foam at the mouth like rabid dogs and rave incoherently when they leave a comment ... many of them are named Anonymous ... I think it's a cult or fraternal order or something. :D

Welcome to the AH and Lit all you new people...Mark, you belong in the personals forum.

BrielleJameson, if that is your real name, set them free and have fum. Brace yourself for feedback in the LW category, though. It's highly entertaining, but the readers there are a piece of work. My stories got one-bombed after my foray there. Oh, well.

The only advice I can give is the difference between a newb and n00b.

Newb is short for newbie, which is a new person that isn't all that experienced, but will learn as time goes on.

N00b is a derogatory term for someone that acts like they just got off the boat even though they have been here for a long time. They don't know much of anything (even though they act like they do), and they don't want to learn either.

I think (I hope?) you used the wrong one by mistake in your topic title ;)

Hello, and welcome to Literotica. Have you tried the biscotti?
