Manhattanhenge

Wasn't there an episode of CSI New York that featured Manhattanhenge?

I love Neil Degrasse Tyson's musings. I find him one of the most interesting people I have ever listened to.

I thought you hung doors on henges . . .

Only in Manhattan.
Over here, we have a variety of Henges to suit all tastes, in both wood and stone and widely distributed about these Isles.
And not a door in sight.

I draw your attention to that fabulous track by Flanders & Swann: "Built-up area"

From Wiki:
The "henge" portion of Stonehenge has given its name to a class of monuments known as henges. Archaeologists define henges as earthworks consisting of a circular banked enclosure with an internal ditch. As often happens in archaeological terminology, this is a holdover from antiquarian usage and Stonehenge is not truly a henge site as its bank is inside its ditch. Despite being contemporary with true Neolithic henges and stone circles, Stonehenge is in many ways atypical – for example, at over 24 feet (7.3 m) tall, its extant trilithons supporting lintels held in place with mortise and tenon joints, make it unique.
