The Left’s Dirty Little Secret: Liberal Racism

The Audacity of Sambo, the Jumping Jim Crow

Hardly a day goes by that I don’t read yet another charge of racism against someone - anyone - who dares to oppose, or question, anything that Barack Obama says or does – or doesn’t do, for that matter.

The latest charge of course, was directed at anyone who questioned why Obama refused to release a simple birth certificate for two years. Merely questioning Obama was tantamount to being a racist, a “birther,” or both.

The fact that a “certificate of live birth” passes for a birth certificate in Hawaii is irrelevant; this president could have saved himself – and the country – oodles of wasted time.

Guess what folks? Here’s a dirty little secret: Charges of racism by liberals have nothing to do with the color of Barack Obama’s skin — and everything to do with your audacity to oppose their socialist ideology. You must be called out, labeled and discredited.

You see, if you oppose modern “progressivism” in America, you are evil: you want seniors to starve, and children to die. You are intolerant of non-Christian religions, and you want atheists to burn in hell. You want to deny healthcare to the less fortunate, and you think that fat cat CEOs should be paid millions of dollars, while the common worker scrapes by.

And so it goes with liberal racism. However, a funny thing happened on the way to the KKK meeting: Herman Cain. In a world of twisted logic understood only by liberals, conservative support for Herman Cain is racist. How can that be, you ask? Because the only reason you support him is he’s black.

A friend of mine was recently accused of racism for her support of Mr. Cain. The rationale went something like this: “You’re only supporting Herman Cain because he’s black.” Huh? “That’s right, you’re only for him because he’s black – and he acts white.” (Never mind that she actually supports Herman Cain’s positions on the issues; she’s a racist.)

Ah hah! Now we’re getting somewhere: If you oppose Obama, you’re a racist. If you support Cain, you’re a racist — because he ACTS WHITE. The screwy mind of the liberal.

Let’s look at the flip-side: If blacks in America don’t support liberal agendas, they’re not really black after all, are they? Herman Cain is “acting up” America; there’s no place for this kind of ungrateful behavior on the Liberal Plantation. Who in the hell does this uppity black man think he is? Does he not realize what the Democratic Party has done to for him?

From Chauncey DeVega of Alternet:

“As you know, I find black garbage pail kids black conservatives fascinating not because of what they believe, but rather because of how they entertain and perform for their White Conservative masters. (Sounds like Calypso Louie may be this guy’s speech writer.)

When race minstrelsy was America’s most popular form of mass entertainment, black actors would often have to pretend to be white men, who then in turn would put on the cork to play the role of the “black” coon, Sambo, or Jumping Jim Crow. Adding insult to injury, in a truly perverse and twisted example of the power of American white supremacy, black vaudevillians would often pretend to be white in order to denigrate black people for the pleasures of the white gaze.” (Wow, there’s a bit of Zulu Shabazz in there too.)

Unable to comprehend the attraction that conservatives have to Herman Cain, Democrats have frantically paged through the liberal handbook, and come up with a plan of attack:

1. Herman Cain is being noticed by the left as a potential threat to Obama in 2012.

2. Since he might be a threat, he must be attacked, discredited, and destroyed.

3. Rather than debate Cain’s ideas, (and those of his supporters) he must be attacked for failing to behave like a black man should behave, and his supporters must be attacked as racists.

4. Dividing Americans based on race is still a priority for the left.

And what is it that liberals find so anathema about Herman Cain?

Success, of course. Cain is a self-made man. (strike one) He should be a role model for all Americans who strive to make better lives for themselves. (especially, black Americans, many of whom instead, find people like Herman Cain, Allen West, and Clarance Thomas disloyal and threatening) He believes in American Exceptionalism. (strike two) He is a no-nonsense, straight-talking, decisive man who stands by his convictions. (strikes 3, 4, 5, and 6) Mr. Cain is everything that liberals hate in conservatives.

Oh yeah, and the black part? They hate that the worst. He’s an embarrassment to many blacks, and the liberal establishment as a whole. He does not believe in a system of dependency, so therefore he is not beholden to the Democratic Party. He must be destroyed. What better way than to accuse him of selling out to whitey?

You see, folks, liberals are so accustomed to race-baiting, it’s incomprehensible that to conservatives, the color of Herman Cain’s skin is irrelevant. They don’t want to believe it -it scares the hell out of them. If they lose the War on Racism, stick a fork in them – they’re done, and they know it, deep down inside.

Herman Cain may or may not be the Republican challenger to Barack Obama in 2012. Regardless, this decent, principled man is being attacked in a way that once again proves racism is very much alive and well in America — and it’s an ugly site to behold.

You get accused of racism for one reason and one reason only: you're a racist.

Your response to someone calling black people "whiney-ass negroes" is to praise them, and then put down people who feel differently. It isn't rocket science.

And you won't admit to it - just like you won't admit to following busybody's every post (though we proved today that you don't have him on Ignore, like you claimed).

Actually, between being a total and utter pussy and a racist, it's a damn close call as to which wins.

I'd go with "total and utter pussy". Miles is the poster child for conservative cowardice on the General board.

Miles gets his moron racist card pulled again with dizzybooby chiming in with his own ethnic slur rants..

I do not think this is going the way you hoped miles.

A critical issue with regard to the Obama long form birth
certifi cate is that Hawaiian law (Hawaii Revised Statute 338-17.8)
allows the State of Hawaii to issue a certifi cate of live birth even if the
child is born outside the state provided the parents have been legal
residents of Hawaii for at least one year immediately preceding the
birth.

I stopped reading here.

Miles actually called out JohhBJohnson's (or whatever his lit handle is) foamy-mouthed, idiotic homophobia just a couple of days ago.

The irony of this - especially from a site that offers apologetics for the birther lunatics - is just too delicious.

Beyond the hypocrisy on display here, constitutionclub.org conveniently neglects to mention that during the 2010 elections, the question was raised all across the "liberal" media: "Is Barack Obama 'black' enough?"

Mary Frances Berry Professor of American Social Thought and History, U. Penn. :

Tainting the tea party movement with the charge of racism is proving to be an effective strategy for Democrats. There is no evidence that tea party adherents are any more racist than other Republicans, and indeed many other Americans. But getting them to spend their time purging their ranks and having candidates distance themselves should help Democrats win in November. Having one’s opponent rebut charges of racism is far better than discussing joblessness.

Posting this in a thread that begins with an article aimed at "tainting [liberals] with the charge of racism" shows a real gift for irony.

I salute you.

That aside, of course she's right. The politics of destruction and negative ads being practiced in 2011! Can you imagine?

Oh, the outrage!

YOURE A CLOSET LIBERAL.

MILES is infected with the same disease most Republicans have, they yearn for liberal love. Deep down MILES feels inadequate and ashamed.

these are the types of things said on internet chat boards that I'd pay to see being said in person

hey ! I tossed $5 into a black dudes cup as he was begging on a street corner downtown last week . obviously I still hate black people .

 Somehow I never got the impression that Boehner, or McConnell, or the Tea Party ralliers were yearning for liberal love. (What love they do yearn for is an imponderable question.)

Then youre ill-informed. Boner and McConnell will both grab their ankles before the debt ceiling issue is done. Bone, becuz he likes it. McConnell becuz everyone else is doing it.

Is this claiming that the Tea Party isn't racist or that Republicans are. Shouldn't it claim there is no evidence that tear partiers are more racist than Americans in general and not Republican in particular?
