I am stuffed! Dinner was absolutely beautiful, and my sweet turnips turned out just perfect :D
And following it with white choc and raspberry... stroke of genius, if I do say so myself

Now I'm sitting here in front of the fire watching masterchef with an irish coffee :)

God, I love my life!

I cooked spigette, felt rather simple LOL. Had red wine, oregano, onion, garlic and onion, was nice

Home made beef stroganoff, with a home made creamy carbonara pasta

full as a goog and ready for sleep :D

Oh? Where do you have in mind? It is a lot as well

That's a secret that will remain between the two of us I think. Don't need to be sharing all my trade secrets with the thread! ;)

So, how is everyone? WQ, sorry to hear about your youngest and the conjuctivitis. It is so very contagious, isn't it? I must admit that I'm a bit of stickler for keeping the kids home when they're ill. Consequently, DD spent rather a lot of last year at home. This year though, she's had very few sick days. Her immune system must be getting more used to school.

*puts her hand up as another jealous person regarding dinner* We just had fish and chips. I have totally lost my enthusiasm for cooking lately. How do I go about getting it back?

Sorry to be missing last night. I spent most of the evening naked and wet. :D

But I wasn't doing anything terribly fun, truth be known. I coloured my hair and cleaned the shower. Still, it's done now. *crosses those off 'to do' list*

Now, are all our kiwi friends safe? There's a country that doesn't need any more crap just at the moment.

I was in the middle of writing a long reply to this post, and my Galaxytab glitched and I lost the whole thing!

Conjunctivitis is extremely contageous - the boy is being made to wash his hands every 5 seconds, and I am changing his pillow and washing laundry in 80deg temps!
He's on eye drops every 3 hours too, which he hates.

Cooking - that was the long reply. Might have to sit down to a real computer when I get back from the doc and do it again then!

I also feel like colouring my hair today. As I'm getting older  I am going for slightly softer colours - no more fiery reds and midnight blacks!
I've chosen a nice mocha brown this time
I need a trim too, but the good thing about colour is that it hides a multitude of sins for just that little bit longer!

As for NZ, the tsunami warning was called off. They did have a minor wave tho, all of 2 feet.

The quake was very deep and didn't cause any damage. I guess since the Christchurch quakes everyone hears "earthquake" and "New Zealand" in the same sentence and immediately thinks of that.

Truth is NZ has been rattled and rolled since Adam was a boy, people are used to it and it very rarely gets bad like what happened in Christchurch :)

Damn! I hate it when that happens! Oh, those eyedrops sting! I feel sorry for your boy.

OK, I look forward to the long cooking reply. Anything that helps me get my mojo back is good.

I don't do black, but this brunette has been restyling herself as a redhead for a few years now. The last one was really bright and I loved it. This one has come out much darker. Still, it needs a few washes to settle down before I can properly say if I like the colour or not. I never judge it in the first few days. And I did it the opposite way with getting the trim. Made sure it was cut first before the dye went on, as I consider it a waste to dye longer hair that I'm planning to get cut soon.

Oh, thank goodness for that. I'm glad to hear it was nothing major in the end.

You're right, NZ does have more than it's fair share of quakes, but yes, Christchurch has made us all sit up and pay more attention. And just knowing that they've already had a hammering this year means I have my fingers crossed that the universe won't play any more major tricks on them for a while.

I am good thanks and you?

Well, truth be told, I'm a tiny bit upset at the moment. I've just discovered that I accidentally put a wool blend cardigan through a normal wash and I've felted it! It's got cashmere in it!! If I may be so bold... Shit, bugger, fuck, crap, bollocks!

Sorry, I realise it's just a piece of clothing, but I'm feeling a bit stupid at the moment. I can't believe I did that!
