It's understandable; she's very fond of Freddie. And she's very sensitive to being called an alt. That's what you did that set her off. I know her, and I react a bit to people declaring her an alt as well. So, have your disagreements with her, if you will, but remember she is very real person.

Focusing on those in this thread is throwing flak up in the air.

No, actually I stay out of the Scouries threads and discussions unless I happen to notice something ludicrous that he's presented (oh, sorry, that would include everything he writes) that piques my opposition. Occasionally someone else on his thread piques me that way, and I sometimes respond to them as well. As far as not getting upset with Freddie dumping on you, well, suffice it to say that I don't know Freddie, nor you, for that matter. My only issue was about YoursSINSerely being an alt. I don't care for the alt business at all, and I tend to take issue with declarations that people I know are real are alts. Just a little quirk of mine that you've found yourself subject to.
I don't really care what you think of Freddie or Scouries or Poohbahs or Ralphs, even though we seem to be in some agreement there. I don't know your whole history with Babs, but I do know I've seen her defend you at times in threads where others were bashing you.

Thanks for the laugh, pilot, the thought of having "sweet and cuddly goosebumps" over her opinions of S & F is amusing. I don't have such goosebumps either. Nor would i expect you to be putting much time into interacting with her at all.

But you did seem annoyed enough to get into a bit of a match with her over it anyway; why should it bother you that she was bothered by Scouries putting her on ignore. (And I don't think that was what she was referring to with the "dead baby" allusion).

Now, I think we've both spent enough time on the issue (more than I expected, actually, but it is nice to chat now and again), and I have appreciated your comments. You have told me a bit more about what goes on here, and i'm always happy to learn. Thanks for your comments.

It doesn't bother me that she's bothered about Scouries putting her on ignore. I was amused and thought she was being silly. And I said so. (And I even tried giving her some advice to see how silly it was and to just drop it.)

But as far as defending me in any sense, we'll just see what if anything she says about Freddy's two vicious attacks on me on this thread today, won't we? Or even you, for that matter.

The only way to appear fair and evenhanded is, well, to be fair and evenhanded in your postings. As far as I can tell, Babs isn't. She's picked sides and plays the provocateur in that role, revving threads up again when they otherwise would just stop.

(I do mow the lawn, such as it is, but as there are only three small patches in our woodland yard and that's mostly moss, mowing the lawn doesn't mean much.) If she goes before me, I'll have to move into an apartment, because I don't know where the thermostats are.

We're not cutting down trees just now; we're planting them--even though we already have about thirty ones in our yard that knew Thomas Jefferson. I moved a twenty-foot river birch from the driveway (where it was delivered) to the backyard today and dug the hole for it and went to the store for a bag of good dirt. But you can bet that my wife is going to have to actually plant the sucker and take the blame if it dies.

As far as potty mouth. If you've been reading the forums much at all, you'll know that I don't cuss here much at all--especially in comparison with others.
