Very rarely, I make a recipe from one of the supermarket magazines (coles or woolies).
Tonight I made rice rocks from the woolies mag - and am here to report they are a winner!
Everyone loved them :D
But me being me, I have alredy rewritten the recipe to improve it for next time.

Yep thats what recipies are for, improve them to suit your tastes.

Little sam asked his dad 4 a bike 4 his b'day. He said "no son,the mortgage is 80k and ur mummy has just lost her job" next day sam walked out with his suitcase packed. His dad asked "where r u goin son" sam replied "i walked past ur bedroom last night and heard u say 2 mum that u were pullin out, she said 2 wait cos she was comin too,and i'm not staying here on my own with a 80k mortgage and no fucking bike.

That is a good one mate, i like it. :D

us Albertans are used to the gusty northerly winds :D did you have family there? how cool though that you were in my locale...Calgary is my hometown :)

well i'm off to make Flamey his tea........have a great night A/all and keep warm :)

I stayed at a friends place in Cowtown in between my ventures around Canada & the US as well as staying at my sisters place in the B.C. Rockies.

I enjoyed a couple of nights of Blues at the King Eddy pub in Calgary, love live music.

I was out near Acme when the winds hit & the snow followed, I'll have to dig out the pics.

Also got caught by the spring thaw combined with thunderstorms causing flooding on my way into B.C. near Crows Nest Pass.

Lots of tales & stories of my 3 months travel through W Canada & the US.

this recipe is one that tastes good in the original form!
Very rare.
But it can be adapted for different ingredients quite easily, so that's what I'll be doing - then I can make it more often without it getting boring.

Hi all,
Had people staying here, now have to catch up on everything I didn't get done while they were here. So I'm not really around, but just checking in.

Catch you later.

the King Eddy has always been the place to be in Calgary. i think the ex-Premier still hangs his hat there. LOL when he was mayor, he conducted most of his public speaking there (and prolly singing too hahaha)

It sure was one of my favorite places in Calgary.

One thing i though very funny about CowTown was when the chuck wagon/ rodeo was in town all the people I saw most days wearing suits, collar & tie were all in cowboy gear. LOL

People laugh when i tell them I've been to Head Smashed In Buffalo Jump.

All I have to say is DILLIGAF !!!!!!!!!!!!

Big cooking day for me today - making madras curry, dahl, and beef +mushrooms in red wine for those that don't eat hot food. I have a big slab of beef to use up, so I'll make a load of food to freeze for during the week.

We're discussing buying that property on Kangaroo Island - I'm keen as to do it. 130 acres of solitude, can't beat that! He's pretty keen also, we like our isolation.
The littlest kidly is keen-ish, but the eldest no1son not so much. And of course, the daughter won't want to come to the middle of nowhere.
All things that have to be considered.

Being back here has kind of consolidated our desire to make the move. It's fucking cold here!
It would be nice to still have the bush surrounds, without the absolutely freezing weather for half the year.
And this year we didn't have a summer (it never went over 25) so realistically, it has been winter or autumn for almost an entire year :(

Decided to start a rumour at work today. It seems that Big Red has an elephant tatooed on her but!? She, of course, denies this. Now we are trying to figure out where the trunk would be.......

Positively subtropical tonight - apparently it will be 6 deg!
That's the warmest night in a month.

I'm all cooked out for today, but tomorrow is cake day :)
