is there a place that tells you how to do a tab in a poem here? I want to bump a line over, like in an indent for a paragraph. I searched html coding on the net, but that didn't work either when I tried it.

When I hit submit in the cue, the formatting is lost.
It's for a trick I want to try in a poem. Just point me to a place if there is a help thread on formatting for submissions.

Thanks beforehand if you can help.

you can ask the editor to post it as you have submitted it ...... if it's on a thread try putting in dots then put those in a white font so they don't show

This is it
and this
and this

don't know if it works until I post it. here goes

the spacing doesn't work when you go from checking to submit, though. I'll put a note in that box for the folks who post the poems.

nope, try again

Like this?

You used to be able to place the word indent in brackets like these [] at the start of what you wanted to indent and brackets with a slash before the word indent like these [/] at the end of your indented text. Let's see if it still works.

Ok, here's my indenting experiment.
And if it doesn't there is always the "white space" solution, like this:

_____ Here's an indent with spaces colored white. Click on the A and select white.

ETA: Ok, they both still work. :)

To indent

To indent in the forum use .......... or other minimal character and then change the font color .........

To indent a single space in a poem you post you'll use   (that is ampersand followed with nbsp; with no spaces) if you then use a space between each of these thingies it will read as two spaces and   will read as three spaces.

While this will move line by line, you can cut and paste a string of these

        Poem line one here
        Poem line two here

that's how I do it.

There's a FAQ on forum post formatting on the tabs at the main Literotica Discussion Forum index.. I believe that you should still be able to do simple HTML editing on your submissions but if not, you can upload a word file and the Literotica editors will post it as it appears in the Word document file. This is not as gratifyingly instantaneous as it is if you convert the doc to html right in word and then copy and paste the hash marks and all right into the submission window.

Make a note to the editors that you'd appreciate it if they could cause the finished product to appear with the white spaces and formatting you've used in your draft.

Good luck.

I have the information. Thanks for the primer. The &nbsp created the effect on the poem I wanted. It should post tomorrow. I'm trying to do some things that don't fit any preconceived notions except they have some type of symmetry in sound and structure. Some ideas were gleaned from the new to poetry thread and the trick or two thread shared by twelveone, but I tweaked them to what I was trying to convey. I enjoyed it, but the public...we will see.

Thanks - I wasn't aware of the vb encoding, just the html brute force blanking.
