I hope your mechanical writing skills are better than you demonstrate. I have underlined 16 errors in your post. Some of the words have more than one error.

Oh yeah? Well you missed an "I" there smart guy!

Can i post them on lit?

That's okay though, I read right through all the others. I never pay attention to grammar in posts as you can tell by my own.

As for "can" and "may," it depends on whether the writer is asking if something is possible or the writer is asking if it is permissable.

It is permissable, by the way. Just follow the guidelines on the page of instructions.

Aw, Guys, Don't Spoil My Fun

If you start quibbling even before the stories are posted, when do I get my shot?

To be fair, when I type a story, I type it on Word, where it automatically underlines any spelling errors and basic gramatical errors.

I do not use word normally when I am just making a post, although I generally take more care when posting a topic as opposed to posting a reply.

In replies to threads, I have been know to make dreaded 'typos'.

@mg357, as I am guessing you are relatively new here, you might want to use the 'Preview Post' option when posting a topic, that way you at least get a chance to proof read what you have written before submitting the post.

I am sure none of you would ever want to chat on line with me because I make typos all the time because I am trying to chat in real time :(

Not me hon. I am a grammatical nightmare on the forums! When I write I do better and of course have an editor but I just type fast and dirty here and just don;t care. It's like when you speak in front of people you enunciate very carefully and speak very proper English. When I'm at the bar it's "I don't got nuttin'" Posting to me is like "slang"

couple of nights ago I was blitzed and posted a tell me your fetish thread (like I said a little in the bag) and someone complimented me on my typing. Guess i should drink more.

Not that it makes a difference if posts are grammatically correct or not, but there is a program you can download to your 'puter for sites like this that will flag spelling errors. It even works on e-mails.

I'll check around on my disc for it and get back to you.

I still don't think that it will really help with me chatting on-line :( oh well, it doesn't really matter given that I am a brazen bitch who doesn't give shit about getting peoples approval :D

But thankyou for the thought Tom :)

Okay, folks, here's a question for you....

Is it just me, or do the literotica management staff, whoever is in charge of submissions, seem to have selective eyesight?
I've been trying to post the same story for several weeks, now, but they don't seem to want to let it pass.... first, it wasn't 'broken into paragraphs' (apparently, the indenting done by wordpad when you hit enter to start a new paragraph doesn't count--they want a blank line between paragraphs)
Next time around, it "Had too many mispellings" (nonsense! it was proofed four times before submission!)
The only thing I can figure out is that it's apparently 'Politically incorrect'. The main character is a pot smoking, pistol toting ex Marine libertarian who has no use for socialist democrats like the current occupant of the oval office.
Considering the number of stories I've seen on here that appear to have been written by overly enthusiastic 12 year olds, I think mine should have posted the next day.... just wondering if anyone else has run across anything like this?

It wouldn't have been rejected for the reason you cite. They give the reason it's rejected.

Have you had anyone else look at it to determine what could be meant by "too many misspellings"? There are legitimate reasons why it could be tagged for this and for that not really to be a problem. If that's the case, put a note in the notes box the next time you submit to the effect that it was rejected for misspellings but you don't see any. Then a human editor will look at it. Up to now, you've probably only had a bot program reviewing it.

Incidentally, the space between paragraphs works best in forum messages too.

Another incidentally, unless your story is entered in one of the theme contests, it's not going to be posted the next day. A check with the FAQs would reveal to you that it's going to take at least three days to post. This is a huge volume site with very few processing stories in.

Actually, this story has been resubmitted twice, and the reason given for it not being posted makes no sense. The reason given was 'misspellings'; there are none. I spent nearly an hour putting blank lines between paragraphs, so that lame excuse won't wash either.

I'm always suspicious when someone says they have spelled everything correctly but they won't say that it's been edited by someone else.

So, what are you going to do about it? I've suggested what you should do. Just posting here about it won't get you anywhere.

And putting spaces between paragraphs isn't lame either. It's pretty much the way it's done across the Internet. I'm guessing you didn't read the FAQs here before posting either.

So, obviously it's all someone else's fault.

I suggest getting a volunteer editor to look it over, then. Perhaps s/he will be able to help. *shrug* Good luck!

I see you are from the US but by any chance does the story contain either an old English style or maybe a ton of slang? Otherwise I can't see an issue on their end.

Duplicate post.

We had a discussion about this less than a week ago on AH. SilkStockingsLover had a story bounced twice for "misspellings", and posted a query. I was the copy editor, but was too polite to vent my spleen at the mods. I limited my comments; stated that I was just puzzled.

The spelling was correct, there were no non-English words, but the spellings were UK-style (Silk is, I believe, Canadian). Yet, as I pointed out then, there have been any number of stories posted by UK and Commonwealth (if the latter is an acceptable word any more) writers, AFAIK without a hitch. Finally, after some palaver on AH, the story was published.

There never was an explanation, whether from the mods or anyone on AH. I expect this is just another example.
