This is going to be a reload of a previous thread that never really got off the ground. I really liked the idea of it and I want to start it back up. The original thread is found here: http://forum.literotica.com/showthread.php?t=719681&highlight=Aura+bender

And the basic details of it I'll post right here.

This will be vaguely like Avatar: The Last Airbender.

On the distant planet Sargon, early evolution saw a combination of primate and feline DNA. This new race continued to evolve along the same course as humans in our world, leading to people that look mostly like humans, but with some feline features, such as slit pupils, raised cat ears, tails, and enhanced speed and agility.

A few other races of animal evolved in a somewhat similar manner, but they look like humanoid animals rather than humans with animal traits. True furries. They are more barbaric that the cat people.

The catboys and catgirls, called felidans, are very civilized. They have cities and kingdoms equal to that of medieval Europe. The humanoid animal races are still more controlled by their instincts and usually live in camps or villages out in the wild.

Humanoid cats: Pantherans. Many of them are barbarian warriors and can be very violent. Very few speak coherent Felidan (basically, English).

Humanoid wolves: Wulvarn. Though barbaric like the Pantherans, they are much smarter, and are the equevilent of native American tribes.

Humanoid dogs: Daugarn. Distant cousins of the Wulvarn, they have grown to adopt the Felidans more modern methods, creating their own cities.

So, we have the Felidans, which are basically humans with cat ears, tails, eyes, etc. The other three races are cats, dogs, and wolves that have the same shape as the human body, but are still covered in fur and have fangs and claws.

The story here is that the Daugarn have adopted a Felidan lifestyle, but have yet to replicate their Crystal technology (magical crystals with various properties, more on that below). The Felidan Kingdom refuses to share their technology with the Daugarn Empire, declaring them too barbaric to use the power right, despite their social reforms of recent centuries. This enrages Emporer Doberman, so he sends the Pitbulls, the most ferocious clan of warriors he has, to attack Felidans traveling abroad and steal their Crystals.

The Crystal Wars begin. The Felidan Kingdom retaliates against the Daugarn Empire, and all-out war grips the Southern Continent. Most non-warrior Felidans flee to their capital on the Northern Continent, Emerald City. This, along with Port Sapphire on the coast, become the only two Felidan strongholds to survive the war.

The reason the Daugarn are so powerful is due mostly to their larger size and strength, in addition to the powers of the Crystals they continue to steal from defeated Felidans. Felidans are usually between five and six feet tall, whereas the Daugarn are usually seven feet or taller. The Pitbulls may be the most savage fighters of the Daugarn, but they are not the tallest -- the Great Danes are around ten feet tall and VERY muscular, almost like trolls or ogres. They are not the smartest, but make great and loyal bodyguards and soldiers.

More on this later.

Crystal Technology: Basically, a long time ago a Felidan tinkerer found a cave with crystals that flashed various colors. He discovered that if he polished the gems and looked through them, he could see different colors of energy in the world around him. He could also interact with them by moving a second stone in his hand through the various fields of energy. He discovered by mistake that if you slammed two stones against each other while both were in a wave of the same colored energy, the crystals absorbed some of it and became magical.

Over the decades the process was refined. Now, Felidans have several kinds of Crystals. They are made in Crystal Factories near the mines in the Sharpfang Mountains to the north. Here are the kinds.

Red Crystals: Fire/Lightning powers
Blue Crystals: Water/Ice powers
White Crystals: Wind/Air powers
Yellow Crystals: Rock/Sand powers
Green Crystals: Plant/Life powers
Purple Crystals: Psionic powers (limited telepathy, telekinesis [very few are born with a Purple Aura])
Black Crystals: Death/Pain powers (Originally, no Crystals were made with the Black Aura, for its obvious negative nature. However, Emperor Doberman had them made shortly after they conquered their first Crystal Factory and discovered the hidden Seventh Aura. People are only born with a Black Aura if they have a dark soul, and such people are cleansed at birth, purifying their soul of it's Black Aura. Their Aura then changes to something else.

When a Felidan is born, their Aura is made of one of these colored energies. If they hold a Crystal bound with their same kind of energy, they can use powers of that element, just like benders from Avatar. I have added an extra Plant/Life element, meaning once can manipulate existing plants or create new ones from seed. Like, one could have a seed in their hand and then make a vine grow out of it very fast to use as a grappling hook, and then return it to its seed form afterword. They can control the cycle of life within the plants.

Anyway, our characters would be Felidan refugees living in Emerald City. From there we can go anywhere. I'll add some plot ideas later. Some can be royalty and nobles.

More info later. Lemme know if anyone is interested.

If interested, remember to post character bios ^-^

Name: Jace
Age: 19
Aura: Blue
Appearance:
http://i178.photobucket.com/albums/w250/elea_2007/hot%20anime%20guys/normal_catboy21907486234.jpg

Bio: Born into an aristocratic family, Jace was a child prodigy in Aurabending. Even as a child, he showed extraordinary promise. Though socially Jace was more of a recluse. He preferred to be alone at least until he created the Reaver team. One thing led to another and Jace became the leader and Blue Aurabender for the Reaver team. He only associates with those in the team but never outside. He spends his time frequently experimenting and coming up with new techniques for himself. He was never a physical type hence his skinny body, but he makes up for this with defensive techniques and amazing bending powers.

This is a really interesting idea. I have a question though. How is it like Avatar the last airbender? Ex ( Moving elements with martial arts ) Do you consider the crystals embedded in their hands to be this similarity?

Its mostly like controlling the elements through the crystals. Its like Avatar in the sense of controlling elements but fighting styles can be incorporated into the story.

So, we need Red, Blue, White, and Green Aurabenders. One of each, please. At least for now. As for the Purple Aurabender, she is a special character I want to find a special person to play. Since Purple Aurabenders are so rare, she is highly saught after. Doberman wants to get her so he can control her, since he has yet to come across a Daugarn with a Purple Aura (yet surprisingly, due to the harsh rule of Doberman and past Emperors, many Daugarn have Black Auras).

So, the five main characters can be a team of sorts. There is the Emerald City Battle Dome, where teams of five duel each other. Not only is it used to have some sort of fun in the midst of the war, it can be a training ground for young Aurabenders that want to join the war when they turn twenty (age of adulthood on Sargon).

The five main characters are 18 or 19, friends at the local school (Emerald City is huge, with thirteen districts, and a school for each one. Our chars live in the First District, where the Royal Palace and Military Academy are). A few years ago they formed a team called the "Reavers," and began dueling.

A typical duel in the Battle Dome has each team stand at opposite ends of the field. The field itself inside the Dome is basically open ground, along with various ponds and plants around the edges. Red and White Aurabenders can create their powers out of air, but Yellow, Blue, and Green Aurabenders need source material. At each team's side there is a white flag with the team's logo and name on it.

Once the duel begins, two team members stay to guard each flag, while two others run to try and steal the other team's flag. The fifth member stands out in the field, trying to hamper attempts to get their flag before they get to the flag guards. This should be fun to play out. Any time we do this, we can each control one of the opposing team's members so that no two players are pitted against each other. Additionally, any bad guys we fight should be played by the same person (in other words, I will only have my characters fight bad guys I control. Same should go for you. Each players gets to make and control their own baddie so that no players have to fight each other).

After a duel or two, our characters will get caught up in the quest to save the Purple Aurabender from the Empire.

The crystals could be embedded into gloves maybe that we wear. Or just in pouches that we bring out in times for combat.

Basic Stats:
Name: Chance
Age: 19
Aura:White

Appearance:
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v315/winterringer/crazychance.png

BIO:
Chance is 19 years old. Some might say he is as bipolar as his moods change with the wind. He spends less than half the regular amount of time anyone bothers to waste on worrying about things. He was raised to have a carefree attitude. If he shows any sign of being serious it is best to stay out of his way. Being a wind aurabender it can be very dangerous to oppose him. Chance's offensive attacks cause air and wind to sharpen to a deadly edge. His attitude might be a result of having never being injured. Chance reflexivly creates a centrifugal rotating force around him. If anyone is allowed to touch him they should know that they are considered a best friend. Someone chance would risk injury for.

Sweet. So thats 2 benders :D. I'm hoping to find someone good for the role of the purple Aurabender. If you have anyone you know that might be interested get them to PM me or post here :)

Hey, this isn't going to be a G rated teen battle show like they do on saturday morning cartoons is it? haha

Well I sure as he'll hope not. I'm hoping it'll be epic with some depth and maybe even a love interest

I have a few questions. What are some of the personal or emotional conflicts we're going to be facing? What are the limits of our abilities? For example, chance can't just cause a tornado to rip someone to little bits can he?

I won't be able to start for about a week but this looks interesting at the moment. So if I can save a spot for me please.

I might be interested if I can play an intelligent Wulvarn with a Black Crystal. Is that possible or no? I can usually work things around to be neutral. Probably a wanderer who happened across the crystal in his travels and then stuck inside one of the two remaining cities, whichever one you had planned on starting in, because he didn't care enough to join a side.

What do you think?

I'm not sure what Gray had in mind but i find the idea of a black aurabender going against the emporer doberman intriguing. I know chance would quickly befriend you, and advocate your inclusion into the group. That being said i hope you'll keep an open mind about other possible roles if he says no.

I just finished reading the thread.

Befriending a Doberman with a black crystal seems in contrast with what you said of Chances personality. A guy who won't let any one touch him trusting "one of the enemy" and one that is known to have a dark aura, which is basically taboo in his own culture?

Any how I don't want to run your character or anything, so don't be offended JS. Just pointing out what I see.

I wouldn't mind playing the purple girl. If I can come up with a worth while idea. Otherwise my first thoughts would be red or green given that white and blue are taken.

Again I can post in more depth starting tomorrow. If you would like for me to try and do the Purple Aura let me know what you have in mind via pm and I'll flesh out the character. Or a simple yes or no works too.

true, i suppose chance wouldn't let an enemy touch him. However if this doberman was going against the emperor ... the enemy of my enemy is my friend kinda kicks in don't you think? Besides i figure chance is willing to give everyone a "chance" haha at first. Perhaps never being harmed makes him naive that way...

Well again your character. You did mention he was flighty. Just a person who is always defensive I would assume to be cautious by nature.

So yeah last day of work tomorrow. Next week I do have a big presentation in school but that is Wednesday after that I should have some free time I hope. Which is good because I need a creative outlet.

not flighty... just quick to bring up the energy shields so to speak. It's not like he's worried about hanging around with his auaras at the ready.

For some reason I read bi polar as flighty. :cattail: Oh well mistakes happen.

Yes and no. I am asking for the purple since I have some ideas. Outside of that I still have idea's but I need to here back from graybios first.
