What does your voice sound like?

ok, how about Dickens' A Tale of Two Cities:

It was the best of times, it was the worst of times, it was the age of wisdom, it was the age of foolishness, it was the epoch of belief, it was the epoch of incredulity, it was the season of Light, it was the season of Darkness, it was the spring of hope, it was the winter of despair, we had everything before us, we had nothing before us, we were all going direct to Heaven, we were all going direct the other way.

Why won't that Voki message work for me?

I can't get any of the voki ones -do you have to log in or summat?

This is me from about 3 months ago reading an excerpt from one of my bookie-book books.

I dunno, it works for me. do you have your volume turned up and the volume control on the voki link? you also have to press play.

Following copious amounts of alcohol and karaoke in the past 18 hours, I sound very much like a frog today.

Dude, you kinda sound like that anyway.

I need to find a private space to listen to green eggs and ham.

Unless Michael Steele was completely and embarrassingly wrong, that's from War & Peace.

I'm not getting anything to press play on. *LOL* Does the page have ads? Maybe my adblocker is to blame...

I want to hear Honey sing, and Glo read the first lines of Prufrock:

S’io credesse che mia risposta fosse
A persona che mai tornasse al mondo,
Questa fiamma staria senza piu scosse.
Ma perciocche giammai di questo fondo
Non torno vivo alcun, s’i’odo il vero,
Senza tema d’infamia ti rispondo.

I much prefer David to Richard.
My ipad has been motherfucking cool for a lot of things, but my typing on the board has definitely gotten worse. Even with the bluetooth keyboard, I'm always leaving out letters and short words. I have no idea why I notice it less this way, but I do. And I HATE "Edited by..." so I usually just leave it, unless it changes the meaning somehow.

I try not to comment on obvious typos unless they're funny. Or Sean makes them.

This thread suddenly became worth it again.

ha! i got to hear de bronze... *happy dance*

another youthful voice, mild and smiley and with an educated-edge softened by a southern tinge. loved it :D

the way bronze says 'fox' in green eggs and ham is tinglelicious!
.

Is there another way to say fox?

One of the problems of speaking with a soft southern drawl is most people see a conflict between southern and educated. While very few people question my education, they do ask if I am really southern. I alway respond, "Whutadu mean?" and they are reassured.

there oughtn't to be a conflict, but years of stereotyping has its impact. perhaps i meant more cultured, or refined as opposed to educated.

what?

whaatttttttt???

and you keep right on saying 'fox' the way you do.

ooh my....

Crackerjack said kinda the same thing, but neither your, nor his accent sounds uneducated. though I'm not really sure what a southern uneducated voice would sound like.

i'm trying to figure out how to do this on my new computer. it may take a bit.
