To quote ICR : PFFFT more like the return of the ice age but as I said BANDIT:heart: shared her bugs with me & I have aches & pains, headache, sore throat & even standing right in front of the heater I can't get warm.

She didn't really need to share as I was OK with getting her cups of coffee, snacks, caring & love.

sucks to be sick
but at least you know the love is still strong enough to want to share everything! ;)
gluhwein (google it) always works to warm me up!
And zinc supplements really do shorten the duration of a cold.

I may have to buy gloves this year - the cold is making my hands ache when I drive :(

We are both taking Echinatea with garlic, zinc & vitamin C in it although I doubt that the levels of the added goodies is that high.

Evening all,

Well a bit of a heatwave in Melbourne town this week its going to get to 18 by the end of the week just in time for more rain on the weekend...yay.

My idea of camping is staying at a 2 star motel not on the main street.

Spent the weekend all to myself....happy times, no phone calls, no tasks to do, played video games and slept in.

Elfie!! All alone for the weekend? Bliss, lucky you. Sounds like you found ways of amusing yourself though. That was amusing and not abusing wasn't it? Hmmm not sure whether to burn or disinfect my mind now....:D:devil:

2 star motel? Hush your mouth. Any less than a 4.5 and I start to break out in hives at the mere thought. Probaly the bed bugs that one finds in such establishments. *primal shiver*

If you need some heat down that way, just let me know. More than happy to blow a little warm air your way..........

Add Tiger Balm to that list too Mr Gil. It's always good for what ails you, at the very least, adds a little heat to it all

Hope you and Bandit bounce back to full health soon.

it can only help.
hope you both get better very quickly :rose:

Thanks WQ :) I'm feeling better today but not up to going to the gym yet, will probably leave it til Friday which will be a week since I got sick. I don't believe in exercising when I'm crook I've found it only makes me feel worse and I don't want to spread it to some other poor person!

Like some person did to you.

We also used the vicks on the soles of the feet before bed which has done wonders for me & the fever has broken.

I guess I'm a roughneck as I've never slept on sheets with a thread count rating  do you get them at target or k mart in the discount bins?

Hey Gil,

Yep I had no clue of thread count until a very charming young women explained it to me, now when I look at the junk mail I look for the thread count on the discounted sheet sets. Had to laugh at one sale when they advertised that the sheets were on sale at $100 off the normal price...WTF...turns out the sheets were normally $400. I also don't get why you need 7 pillows on a bed when you end up tossing most of them away when you get in to it.

I recently saw 1000 thread count sheets on sale, the normal ones are 225. Where is it going to end? Kinda like HD space how much is enough?

Ms Moon

Yes it was good to just leave the world behind for a couple of days. I wasn't totally lazy, did those normal things like the washing and ironing, but not much else. Answering machines are wonderful things if you don't want to talk to anyone. About the only thing I was abusing was my trigger finger on the games. It is quite athletic after all that working out. Now Ms Moon you weren't implying that I was pleasuring myself all weekend...that's a spanking offence to merely suggest such a thing.

Never found any beg bugs in the lower star places, just showers that had less pressure than a watering can and those small kettles which don't actually fit in the sink so filling it up is not possible. In fact the only way to get the kettle back out of the sink is to tip nearly all the water out of it hence defeating the purpose of having a fucking kettle in the room in the first place. It then turns in to a puzzle on mastermind at which point you then start searching for things to capture water in and the only thing you can find is a small thimble thing that is moonlighting as a drinking glass. Then you think how many thimbles full actually make up enough for a cup of coffee. Now you may be thinking well just go out for coffee, well that would be an option however you are in a small country town where even the the pub bistro shuts at 7:30pm, only city folk are still sitting there wondering why there aren't more people in the bistro....cause they ate already and the kitchen is closed kinda like the Gold Coast where unless you are at the club before 6:30pm no din din for you.

So like I said....just like camping.

Thanks for the offer of blowing..*no don't say it*

However I guess by the time it gets down here, the warm air I mean, it has to pass through Canberra where it is below zero, so I'll probably get ice cubes...but I appreciate the thought

Hey Bandit:rose:

Hope you get better soon. This cold snap has really caught people unawares. We seem to be having one of those old fashioned weather conditions at this time of year. A bit like summer just gone, felt like an old fashioned summer. We haven't had a really cold normal winter here in Melbourne for a number of years so I'm guessing this is only the start of it.

You're right about the exercising when you are sick, not the thing to do. Rest is the only thing that really works, just listen to your body. The only advantage is that Gil gets to rub you down more often....vicks on the chest helps, feels better if someone else does it.

Evening all,

Well yes it is cold, but actually not that bad in Melbourne town this week.

Still enjoying driving to work and paying for a car park that costs less than the PT. And I'm getting to sleep in every day compared to the previous time I had to get up to catch said PT. Travel time has also halved. So far no down side, just the destination in the morning.

Last time I went camping I was ridiculed as I had to sit and put on my body lotions, moisturise and oil my hair. I also sooked until they rigged up a half drum and put it over a fire. I had a lovely hot bath under the stars and a full moon. So so not a camper.

Alwasy hesitant about using the kettles after stories from Army lads one night, years ago. Ewwwww.....can't even say what they used to do. Ex sister-outlaw used to do Housemaiding in some pretty fine hotels, the stories she told make me so winky about using things in Hotels.

The last one I stayed in was 4.5 stars, lovely. Except that it had no airconditioning. Large opening windows, yes. But no airconditioning. They brought a standing fan in for you on warmer days.

As for the warm air....you not into a little ice then Elfie? Hmm pity. Nothing like a little triller chiller.

Aaaaarrrggh!
I have insomnia :(
Have been lying in bed trying to sleep for 2 hours now.
Finally given up.

I only but el cheapo sheets & when I can sleep they work just fine as for lots of pillows BANDIT:heart: nests in among them when I'm not there.

We have found that Vicks on the soles of the feet then socks as you get into bed works wonders although a damn good hand wash is required & of course all females benifit from a long chest rubbing is always a benifit to you & it is a sacrifice I am willing to take any time only to assist the female.:D
