there's nothing worse than spending a freezing night in a tent.
i learned this lesson a long time ago - and now own an arctic-rated sleeping bag.
cost an absolute bomb, but damn it's been worth it!

Mine was a really old one I'd had for years which didn't help one bit & I had to wear all the clothes I'd taken with me in an effort to get warm but it didn't work to well.

*pictures gil wearing 3 pairs of jocks, 5 pairs of sox, 2 pairs of shoes....*

lol - been there, done that, never doing it again!

2 pair of socks one pair biker socks that came up to the kness & one pair of nomax, jeans, track pants, singlet, 2 T shirts, 2 sweat shirts, my fire resistant underwear & race suit with my leather jacket with denim jacket over it & a big wool over coat.

In Canada in 1995 a strong northly hit & I was very comfy in my motorhome as it had a furnace but when I stepped out of it I vanished up to my knees in snow & had to replace the heads on the motorhome so borrowed the guy helping me winter coat & my teeth were chatting, I'm no fan at all of cold weather in fact I hate it.

Evening all,

Well a bit of a heatwave in Melbourne town this week its going to get to 18 by the end of the week just in time for more rain on the weekend...yay.

My idea of camping is staying at a 2 star motel not on the main street.

Spent the weekend all to myself....happy times, no phone calls, no tasks to do, played video games and slept in.

I think I've been to that place, the 72oz steak sounds familiar. I remember seeing it in a glass case. Just went the normal size one since I actually wanted to eat it and not throw it up. There is always carrots when you do throw up...never remember eating any, but yep carrots every time.

Yep & it dosen't matter if it's sliced or diced either.

you do know that carrots = stomach lining, right?

well I guess that's the last time I'm buying carrots...I miss the old days when carrots actually meant carrots....I suppose you're going to tell me next that the tooth fairy is actually an out of work dentist who dresses up in drag

Ditto.
I've done my fair share of roughing it, now sheets with a thread count of less than 800 feel like sandpaper and I end up in a rash (no kidding!!)

Another Monday gone - and thank goodness! We moved office floors over the weekend and everything was a shambles when we got in to work. The networks were down, no printers on our floor....and no IT people to be seen! We didn't really get up and running until about 11. By that stage, I'd had too much coffee (I don't drink it normally) and felt ill.

The good news is that the pool fairy has been and my new pool vac is up and running. I'm not sure what to do with it...it's still running and I wasn't left any instructions. I think I'll give them a call tomorrow....perhaps they're going to come back again?

I hope everyone's week has started well.

I know some people like that - perfectly happy with sleeping under stars, as long as there are precisely 5 of them.

I guess I'm a roughneck as I've never slept on sheets with a thread count rating  do you get them at target or k mart in the discount bins?

Well at least your weather is better suited for relaxing around the pool then us on the east coast so enjoy, do you plan on doing laps everyday?

Poor BANDIT:heart: is crook with a bad cold or flu & has shared it with me. :( but apart from that things are well with us & she is looking forward to her daughter joining us for a month get away from the moron B/F who wants his former female flat mate to move in with them, he claims she is a lesbian but is involved with a guy, he also wants to take the baby on the 2 wheel motorbike with the baby in one of those things you see babies in on the front of mums & dads...... this 31yo wanker needs a strong dose of grow the fuck up!

I've experienced your pain - yes, its worth investing in a -5-rated modern sleepingbag, toasty-warm inside and light weight

I could well use one of them sleeping bags right now sitting in front of the monitor @ 4am & it's a toasty 7C.

global warming is a bitch ain't it......:)

To quote ICR : PFFFT more like the return of the ice age but as I said BANDIT:heart: shared her bugs with me & I have aches & pains, headache, sore throat & even standing right in front of the heater I can't get warm.

She didn't really need to share as I was OK with getting her cups of coffee, snacks, caring & love.

Sounds like me when the season's change, every joint creaks..... I've never really been bugged by the cold, guess all the years working outside numbed me.

Most of my working years were out side & I had little problem with the cold or heat untill renal failure hit me. I still love the heat as aches don't bother me as much.
