Richard appears in the doorway and as requested, rings the doorbell expecting the proper english butler to greet him like last time.

The butler appears in the doorway looking a bit bemused staring at his sign, "Kenna anyone read anymore?" He said adopting for just a second an almost scottish accent, before he puts back on his proper facade and opening the door to see the angel chap once again. "Good evening good sir... How can I help you?" he asks.

She closed the refrigerator door, leaning against it and grinned like a fool. She opened a drawer and took out a spatula, brandishing it in the air. She winked.

"No I can say I have not, and you are not paddling me with that thing." he says eyeing the instrument. Hopping up on the counter in order to protect his very naked bottom from any possible swats he might have earned by teasing her over the past few days.

But I have this nice jar of blackberry jam, " she opened the jar in her hand and dipped a finger down into it, holding it up for him to see as she licked the blackberry from her finger. *She took this moment and froze it in time, placing it in a vault until they decide to revisit it another time. Her personal observation was that she rather liked where this was frozen at.*

One eye opened to look at the time. A sift groan and she pulled the covers over her head but knew it was no good she was awake. A quick shower, then donning shirt and shorts, a trip to the kitchen for a cup of coffee and she padded to her Study to get some writing done.

She left the study door open, as she crossed the room and sat behind the big desk, her head resting comfortably on the back of the leather. The aroma from the coffee tickled her nose and she lifted the mug to take a sip as she let her eyes wander around the room. Not quite awake enough to start work yet.

The Study

She leaned back in her chair, reaching for her coffee and swiveled around, her eyes alighting on the mysterious doorway that had appeared. Only one man she could think of could put it there. She was pretty sure. His arrival was not expected. Though she had a feeling, he might have put it there to remind her. As if she needed reminding.... okay.... maybe she did, periodically.

The sound on her computer had her swiveling around again. She grinned. Fr33k was on top of it this morning. Setting aside her coffee, she reached for the mouse again.

The note fluttered onto her desktop and she picked it up, the smell of jasmine teasing her nose and knew exactly who it was from. Reading the note, she frowned slightly and made a mental note of joining her gentle-hearted friend the moment the assignments were completed. She sighed softly again, reaching for her mug, wondering what had brought this new situation about. She'd investigate when time allowed for and drop in to see Miss Illi.

Journal Entry- Dark Places

Darkness abounds through flickering candlelight. Arms extended above my head, wrists encased in loops of rope, pulled taunt from above and secured. Bare feet, flat on the floor, touching squarely but my naked body feels the twinge of discomfort from being so stretched.

There are but two boundaries that must be preserved.

One, I am not for sexual use. Here, now, I am for darker purposes. The bite of anger, frustration, the need to lash out. I am the vessel receiving it.

Two, one side can be marred only. I must have a side to lie on, to recover. When your anger has been fed and is sated, you must cut me down and lie me on the uninjured side. Tend to my wounds for if I do not heal you will no longer have a vessel.

You have no choice of equipment. There is but one, the whip. A bull whip. This one tailored just for me, made for my height and proportions.

I can hear your breathing behind me. The anger is building. It isn’t directed at me, I know. It is directed at other things. Futility, stupidity, injustice, resignation, rejection, to name a few. You want to hurt something. Smashing a fist into a wall, only damages the wall and it’s not the same thing as lashing into soft warm flesh, is it?

The first lash comes. The leather hits my skin, causing my body to jerk. The sting of leather strip, at first, is appalling. I briefly wonder how I will endure, but I will. I always do. The second and third as just as painful but you know damn well I will not scream, not make one sound. This isn’t about enduring pain, it’s about you releasing it. By the fourth and fifth, my skin goes warm. The pain has melded into my body until it and my skin are one. I close my eyes, allowing myself to sink into the heat caused by the whip. The lashes continue. Sometimes, they come fast and furiously. At other times they are fierce but measured.

I know welts are rising. This time, the lashing is not so bad. You are angry at the world but you have been worse. You have opened my skin before until I am raw and bleeding. Not today. Not this time.

I trust you. You will not become so engrossed in your anger that you will forget and if that becomes a possibility I know I can draw you back with a single word. It isn’t something I have used often. Once or twice. Both times you have cut me down, tended tenderly to the open wounds, cried in my hair asking how I could let you do this to me. The answer is simple really.

How could I not?

What does not kill us, makes us stronger.

The Study

One last look to be sure she is truly caught up and with a nod, shuts down her computer, taking her empty mug back to the kitchen, depositing it into the sink and she head off to tease Miss Luna before she scoots off to hit the exercise routine, with protest. Whining and dragging her feet will not get it done.

A soft yawn, staring up at the ceiling for a moment or two before I force myself from a warm bed and pad down to the kitchen to flip the switch on the coffeemaker.

Why am I up early on a Sunday? Isn't this suppose to be a day of rest?

Another yawn as I rub sleep from my eyes and find my desk, throwing myself into the chair. Automatically I fire up comp while I wait for my nose to twitch for that familiar scent of coffee brewed.

Nothing too terrible has occured because the rw pulled him away. "Cormamin lindua ele lle." he whispers in elvish. He steps forward to lightly brush his fingertipse over the wood of the island. His eyes on her, wanting to go to her, wanting her to come to him, but a part of him uncertain. He knew it was silly. He knew it was illogical to doubt their bond because he had been away the night before, but yet he was but a mortal, sometimes illogic is what life thrived on.
