Now that is going way back to the dawn of the Gothic culture De-Val, and if my musical history serves me right, when "punk" itself gave birth to the new Goth culture which still exists today ??

Certainly was, loved the very early goth scene was so much fun.

It kind of entered my life when I was at high school. Some of the students were into Gothic fashion and I liked it. However, our "possy" only had one "emo" member and it became a habit to kind of ridicule her which I found cruel. I like many others at the time followed peer pressure, but secretly admired her "cultural" beliefs.

Today Scoots is actually a Goth in every sense. At our last get together she invited me to a Gothic bar in Sheffield. Unfortunately I was busy. But deep within my heart, I wanted to go and see it for myself ;)

Sounds fun! Not been to Sheffield in ages, that used to be the Goth heartland!

Sienna, I'm continuing to read your autobiography a bit at a time.
It's quite interesting, and very well written. I applaud you.

I do however, have a couple of questions, which I'll ask at another time.

Good for Sienna....

Yessss! That is what Scoots actually told me :) She is a member of the Sophie Lancaster Foundation which started the anti-discrimination campaign against Goths after the tragic death of Sophie Lancaster, who was beaten up for being who and what she was :(

Again, yes, I would certainly look into that. I found Scoots cafe chat in Sheffield that afternoon very interesting myself. I also noticed how much she had transformed, almost beyond recognition :) ... her new fashion sense is totally amazing with her raven hair and purple lipstick. Scarey at first, but in a way she suited it.

Those beliefs they have do have historical links in European culture too. I saw the historic connection as well as those supernatural curiosties they persue. It was actually intelligent facts rather than pure myth that she based most of her beliefs in :)

Ours was on April 3rd. I know this because it fell on my birthday this year :)

Good evening

Of course... you are right Arnold, it was the start of April, thank you :)
And welcome back to the thread :)

Thank you Sienna, I'm glad to be back. I've tried not to post as much as I have done. I was approaching 70 posts per day at one stage, but I've just come back from a weekend away, and saw that it dropped to 62 :)
